Peru: Sporting Cristal Kits 2010

Posted on February 6th, 2010 in Peru by reddevilrooney

Sporting Cristal is a football team from Peru, owned by local beer company Cristal, based in the capital city Lima. They play their home games in 18000 capacity San Martin de Porres Stadium. In the 2009 campaign, they ranked 10th in the table. However, they have been quite successful in their history, winning a total of 15 Peruvian Championship, with the latest being the 2005 season. Sporting Cristal have appeared 28 times in the Copa Libertadores, the equivalent of the European UEFA Champions League, and were runners-up in the 1997 campaign.

The team has unveiled its set of three kits for the 2010 Primera Division, manufactured by English brand Umbro. Umbro continue to use their ‘tailored’ design, which is becoming increasingly popular in South America. In Peru, they have recently supplied Universitario and Universidad San Martin de Porres with their simple but yet attractive designs. The new home shirt of Sporting Cristal is light blue, with a mixture of darker blue and white on the collar and sleeve edges. The complementary home shorts are white. These two colour are inverted for the away kit, with the away shirt being white and the away shorts beng light blue. The collar and sleeve edges of the away shirt have a touch of light blue. The most simple of all three kits is the third kit, which is all yellow. The shirt is a lighter shade of yellow than the shorts. Cristal sponsors all the three shirts.

these are good, i think its great how umbro is not issuing a standard template for every team (like puma), but mixing it up a bit by giving every team a unique kit.

“decent home but the others are horrible”?

They are exactly the same design in different colours, so how can one be decent and the others be horrible?
