Nottingham Forest Home Shirt Preview

Nottingham Forest have been playing in League One in the 2007/08 season, after falling to the third level of English football in the 2004/05 season. In the current season, they have ranked 2nd in the table with 82 points, getting 22 wins, 16 draws and 8 losses. This means that next season, Forest will be playing in the Championship, and hoping to bring back the glory days to the club. Nottingham are the only club to have won the European Cup more times than the domestic title.

Nottingham have previewed the new kit that will be used for home matches in the Championship next season. The shirt is designed by Umbro, and the only things that we can extract from the preview is that the shirt will be red (following the Forest’s tradition) and will have a white circular collar. In the picture, midfielder Lewis McGugan can be seen modelling the new kit. The design is being held secret by Umbro until the day of unveiling.

Official sources say that the new shirt will commemorate the club’s two European Cup triumphs. Next year, Nottingham will be celebrating their 30th anniversary of the first European Cup win, back in 1979 when they won by 1-0 against Swedish club Malmo FF, in a Final held in the Olimpiastadion in Munich.

The official unveiling day is the 10th July. As from the day after, the 11th July, the shirt will available to buy from the official store at The City Ground.

    mmmpo, it’s nothing like the same as the Birmingham home strip. The collar is more like the one on the England away kit.

    Forest / Umbro is presently the longest running tie up between an English league club and a shirt maker.
    I note that Forest, like Arsenal and Chelsea are now changing their home shirt yearly. Is anybody still on a two year cycle?

    Well, all i want to see is all this business about the commenmorative design! Any body have any idea´s of what it will be, because it says the stars will be there aswell!

    I put this design togethor in photoshop based on the new Sweden and West Ham away kits with their new umbro templates and also the new forest shirt preview obviously! I figured forests shirt will be vaguely similar!

    From the preview, the forest shirt doesnt seem to have the bold accents that the other 2 have and it looks as if its going to be quite a simple design. Both of the kits have the diamonds on the sleeve with a thin triangular accent below them so i presume this is a constant with the template. There are also accents on the back of the other 2 that will probably make it to the forest shirt.

    I have no idea what the commemorative aspect will be like!

    Scott’s photoshop job is really close.

    add this to it though: a silver star either side of the forest badge, munich and madrid above and below the badge too.

    the capitalone print will be slightly higher up also.

    shirt fittings will be similar to last. so they’ll be slim and amazing.

    looking at the collar on the preview, i think the collar is more like the england away 1, very thin and gets thicker towards the bottom of it

    Responding to an earlier post: Forest are still on a 2 year cycle for changing the home shirt. Arsenal are too although they did wear a ’special’ shirt for 1 season in the last one at Highbury.
