Newcastle United Puma Home & Away shirts 10/11 Leak

New leaked images have been released showing what will probably be the new Newcastle United home and away shirts for next season. Newcastle finished the 09/10 season by winning the Championship and earning a return to the Premier League next season.

The home shirt is mostly the traditional Black and White stripes of Newcastle United. The shoulders and collar are mostly all black. There is white piping down the sides of the chest and shirt. The club badge is on the left of the  chest and the makers, now Puma, have their logo in the top centre of the chest in white. The club sponsor has their name and logo in the centre of the shirt.

The away shirt is mainly all blue. There is white piping along the top of the chest and around the end of the collar. The club badge is on the left of the chest and the makers have their logo on the right and on both sleeves in white. The club sponsor has their name in the centre of the shirt.

  1. The Shoe:

Oh dear, it looks very cheap looking and bog standard templates, I thought they might get summat like the Spurs top, certainly for the away top

  2. Rob Smith:

Hmmmm, i’ve seen much nicer kits from Newcastle. To be frank i think they should have stuck with Adidas and last years kit, that one was really nice. The away shirt’s not bad, i don’t know what’s going on with pumas collars at the moment

  3. LFC:

A Newcastle shirrt doesn’t look right without Adidas to be honest.

  4. Erik Sweet:

I can’t be the only one that thinks these jagged Puma collars are absolutely horrendous-looking. After that God-awful giant v-neck template from last year, and now these stupid collar thing, I can’t imagine why any club would want to wear a Puma kit. It’s so strange, since their African national kits are so smashing – with the look of painted-on stripes and the like. It’s schizophrenic design, and it must drive supporters of Puma-outfitted clubs insane.

  5. Blair on the iphone:

Really liked last years yellow top ( actually went and bought it) so I was expecting big things this year
sadly though..I have been let down immensely

  6. AH BRENDA MAN!:

A D’AINT KNA ABOOT THIS MAN PET

  7. mary:

    re: AH BRENDA MAN

I understand that “A D’AINT KNA ABOOT” translanes to “I don’t know about”, but what’s a “MAN PET”, and where can I get one?

  8. QPR 4 ever!!:

i guess it’s what we all expected, cant say i’m at all suprised.

  9. Mai Takayassu:

I was expecting something worst. But that doesn’t mean I liked this one….
    And a horrible colar…….

  10. kev:

Hope that isnt the home kit…. its to plain… i hope its a fake..

  11. Pablo5:

You can tell the shirt is fake.

  12. Frannufcfan:

Nice if they are real just a simple template nice to see after the past few years of adidas going o.t.t. in my opinion plus upto now only for a couple of seasons.

  13. 2J:

I thought it was going to be alot worse. I don’t mind the home, but what is with the collar?

  14. bigchrisfgb:

I think the blue omne is real especially with the Newcastle logo on the tag. The home one though I think is a pretty bad photoshop job, the Puma looks like it’s been put on by Paint, and at the back of the collar you can see a balck bit where paint has been used again, and the orange Puma tag on the back of the collar isn’t straight.

  15. wilson:

at least it hasnt got black cats on it ;-)

  16. dec:

ummmm the away shirt is an exact replica of the italy wc home shirt this year. except the italian one has the flag colours on the collar. hhahah maybe i should go for newcastle now. FORZA ITALIA FORZA NEWCASTLE nah doesnt work

  17. cave:

I quite like them both especially the outline of the badge, but I doubt their authenticity as the labels on the inside of the collar come off the shirt, rather than a stick on bit which you see on most kits. Maybe their just prototypes leaked to get people’s reactions.

  18. ugh:

Hmmm. 2 things I would do. Shift the club badge over to be centered on the black stripe then move the Puma “cat” over to the oppisite black stripe. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

  19. reza:

the away kit looks like an italia kit fo world cup

  20. Bren333:

Amazing how many negative comments some of these shirts get. Last year’s yellow was slagged off so much but now there’s praise for it.

I like them and think they’ll look good on the pitch. I don’t know how anyone can assess quality from a leaked photograph. They’re all nylon anyway.

It’s really hard doing Newcastle, Celtic, Arsenal etc. because the style is so fixed. Next year’s shirt will be the real test.

  21. panhandle:

they looks so weird without the three stripes on the sleeves.

  22. bhoy:

    What else did we expect?

AsBren333 said before, certain shirts result from the past and the tradition. The designers are to some extend bound to it. Celtic will have green/white hoops even if they have Adidas, Puma, Bukta or Lonsdale. I think it is much easier for designers to create a decent training gear range, than the shirts itself.

The collra we see on that NUFC Shirt is not my style, as i said on the italy shirt before, but the rest is alright and exactly what i expected.

I think we should discuss the sponsors´role even more than the shirt manufacturerers´role on the appearance of football shirts.

I prefer Newcastle Brown Ale o NUFC Shirts or Carslbegr on the Liverpool tops. Sad to realize, that the impact of the sponsors are that big.

    thanks for reading my statement

  23. BuzzinLikEaMAG:

FAKE…FAKE…FAKE…Look at the outline of the sponser on the home kit, you can tell its just been slapped on

  24. euanpolo:

The home kit’s quite nice but I’m not sire if they are real. If you look at the badges carefully they just looks stuck on – there’s all white around the club badge for example. Plus the stripes if you look carefully, look very similar to the adidas kit.

  25. DJWNUFC:

they look fake to me, especially for the home top, look more like the sort u get in asia make very poorly

  26. alanshearersnan:

waay ay pet. Wor alan wornae be seen dead in a shurt leek that man

  27. johno:

Not sure how anybody can say this is a fake, as much as i’d love it to be – what a horrific collar from puma, a brand who I really like but whose football kits have always been pretty poor.
Might just have to buy the england shirt instead! SHEARER 9 on the back wooo!

  28. Dimitar Berbatov:

should have kept adidas whats with the coolar, the home one is in the shape of a cats head!!!

  29. Oscar:

A let-down. The home kit looks similar to last season’s. I was expecting much more.

  30. Said:

    They’re fakes because:
Badge is wrong (one of those iron on types, when Puma always have embroidered ones)
Stripes are from this year’s shirt (identical from the placement to the jagged edges)
Northern rock logo looks poorly slapped on (bodge job)

  31. bobby big wang:

Very fake. Cheap material, iron-on sponser/badge transfers. Best ignored.

  32. Fellipe Eduardo Franco e Fraga Gerçossimo:

Newcastle’s shirts is de only black&white I like. But the puma’s logo centralized at the home shirt was a bad choice.

    The away shirt is wonderful.

  33. Mike Ashley:

I think the blue one might actually be genuine, but the black and white looks very fake and boring

  34. Fat Gaz:

F A K E ! Northern Rock, are NOT sponser for next year after they were bailed out earlier this year

  35. bigchrisfgb:

Gaz, Northern Rock signed a new sponsorship agreement for the next 4 years earlier in the season, a day later or earlier it was announced Puma was the new shirt makers for the next 2 years. Both of them announced by NUFC on their own website.

  36. kev:

yeah its still northern rock they signed new contract .. but i think they said the design will be different it’ll say Northern Rock PLC ?? could be wrong

  37. Dean:

Geordie idiots will all be getting SHEARER 9 on the back no doubt. They should make em wear them disgraceful old Asics kits. See you back in the championship next year ***

  38. luke:

haha they’re bloomin awful! how embarrassing

  39. Mike Ashley:

    dean is a to55a

  40. Jumpers for goalposts:

“bhoy” is absolutely right. Totally agree with everything you said!

“What else did we expect?” Exactly.

You can’t expect too much from clubs with strong traditions and such restrictive colours. Nike have managed to be a bit more creative with Inter Milan’s shirt, but it’s still has black and blue stripes. I agree that there is more scope with the training wear, than the playing shirts.

I also agree that the sponsor’s logo makes or breaks the shirt design. I don’t think Standard Chartered is as dynamic in shape and style as Carlsberg, but LG looks great on Fulham’s minimalist shirt design. Some logos cheapen the shirt, some enhance it. Definitely more of a debate there!

    Great comments, bhoy!

  41. PhilB65:

Not bad but the stripes should go all the way to the top – why has there got to be a black panel on the shoulders? Last season’s home shirt was better though. Would have been better with a centred badge with Puma logos on the arms. 6/10

The away shirt is smart. 7/10

  42. GeordieJam:

I agree with a lot of the other comments on here, I don’t think either of them are real. The home kit’s stripes are identical to the recent adidas one’s plus the badge is a simple ironed on one when they’re always embroidered. The away one looks just like the recent adidas keepers jersey wiv a different neck and shoulders part stitched on and the sleeves cut off! The home shirt’s shoulder part is a different shade of black to the rest of the shirt and even looks like a different shiny material too!!

  43. Mike Ashley:

Not sure why i’ve made such a sh** kit really…. errrrr

  44. dim:

They may be fake but they are fake copies of the actual kits. Look @ the collars.

  45. Toonmad:

    **** Kits We’ve got a white 3rd one aswell

  46. Toonmad:

Nice kits we’ve got a 3rd kit aswell its white

  47. Gooner:

just imagine all the pie munching geordies wearing this when they are getting thrashed down in London

  48. dim:

^ Not really, no. They can’t keep them on that long.. :D

  49. Palms:

These kits look good, better than the yellow one we had last year. Tho the lack of adidas looks weird.

  50. Palms:

To all those who say they are fake:

They might look fake due to the fact that they might be PROTOTYPES.

Prototypes are NEVER a true representation of the finished article, give it a few weeks and a true replica will be produced.

  51. NUFC79:

Yeah, gooner, just imagine that. I bet you are really popular with loads of mates who hang on your every word. You should be on the telly. While you ‘thrash’ us with your band of jonny foreigner imports, I’ll be slipping your mam a length of geordie sausage. NSAB never run.

  52. dim:

    ^ Wow, a mature geordie?…. Nah.

  53. Taffy:

One thing – none of the kits have the hologram logo that puma kits have. The shoulders on the home kit are a different colour black than the main stripes. Methinks it’s an awesome photoshop job.
