New Yellow Arsenal Away Shirt 08/09
The new Arsenal away strip is again made by Nike and sponsored by Fly Emirates who also sponsor the Gunners stadium.
The shirt harps back to the glory days of the late 80’s where the shirts are yellow with navy sleeves and a red trim. The club badge appears on the left breast with Nike ‘swoosh’ on the right. The shorts are navy with red trim and the socks are yellow and blue.
The promotional picture shows stalwarts from the late 80’s, Messer’s Bould, Merson and Smith along with their current crop of young players.
i like it but i won’t buy it

when i first saw the leaked photos of the top i didnt like it, but now seeing the whole it it looks amazing.

Yeah I agree with Jake, it looks a lot better than the leaked pictures, but I’m still not keen on the red strips down the sleeves. It would have looked great if they had done away with the stripes & just had a red cuff like the bottom of the shorts.
It looks awful. It’s like the same as the manky one they had 10 years ago and that was bad enough, but i hate the sleeves and RED FONT ON THE BACK??! It’s looks bad.

It looks bloody glorious! - whats wrong with some of you. It’s retro mixed with modern and it works well.

im a massive arsenal fan and i have just gone out and bought the home shirt and im looking forward to buying the away kit. it brings back memories of the kit which we won the title on the last day of the season at anfield back in ‘89
What Arsenal needs to improve their kits are the golden premiership badges, the rest doesn’t matter.
Cant’ say I like the red stripe on the blue sleeves. Nor do I like the red numbers on back. Technicolor overlooooooooooad!!!

That is a nasty kit but it’s nice to see ARSEnal’s half time talks are so relexed, no wonder they lost the league.

i like it, it looks good as a hole. this kit is more for the players than for the public to buy i think. i see it as anythings better than that ***** white spurs s**t we had last season. what was that all about. but yea like the kit. not to sure on the numbers tho, on the back?

ive read all the responses posted here and i know there are some people that arent arsenal fans but like the kit which means the arsenal kit get respect now its time for the arsenal football team to get respect too.

2001 saw the 30 year anniversary kit for our first double now 10 years on from THAT night we go back to the kit we won the title in.
Red stripe… The away kit in 1989 had red pipingn between the sleeves and main body of shirt.
Its a proper football shirt - no gimmicks or flashiness - its the simple Arsenal tradition (Nike will you **** off with the blue and Yid colour away kits) of yellow and blue.
it should not matter what the top looks like if u are an arsenal fan u should like everything about the club.

The 89 away kit was one of the most iconic shirts of the last 30 years. It brought a football empire to its knees up in Anfield that shifted the balance of power of English football forever. Pure class from adidas. This nike version is ok - the red strip is annoying, the neck line could have been given more thought, it nice to see the golden yellow/navy return to the gunners’ kitroom. Rest in peace David Rocastle.
