Looks good, if a little less distinctive than last season’s penguin design.

I take it Everton’s new shirts will be an essentially identical design?

They have a distinctive style that emerged in the seventies with the so-called penguin look and they go for this bland shite? They must be off their heads. Boring.

Last years had too much white on it, this one has to little.

Augustus, you’re absolutely spot on. If you’ve got a distinctive kit, you wear it with pride. This shirt says one thing to me: F&C Investments. The rest is just a bland Umbro template. From the best strip in the league last year, to this boring Chelsea wannabe.

Looks OK, BUT as everyone else is saying this is a Chelsea kit. Last season was distinctively Birmingham City. Middlesbrough usually have their chest band to distinquish themselves from Manchester United, Nottingham Forest etc, and in my opinion Birmingham City should stick with their unique style. You wouldn’t see Ajax wear all white.

It seems as their performance on the pitch was steadily improving, so was their kits in the last few years, from that 92 influence shirt (the worst kit in football history) to the ill fitting le coq shirts of the savage era to their best shirt in over 20 years that bred history, pride, and confidence. Ok, it didn’t save them from the drop but after only one season - they revert back to a generic, dull, uninspiring shirt - symbolic of the club’s recent direction.
