New Anfield Stadium Images
Check out the pictures of Liverpool’s new stadium, this is the first images of the design that is being planned for the club’s new 60,000 all seater replacement for Anfield, which is due to open in 2010, the ground has the ability to be expanded to 75,000 at a later date.
The original plans for the stadium have been radically changed by new owners George Gillett & Tom Hicks in conjunction with American architects HKS, who are also designing the American Football team; Dallas Cowboys new ground.
Picture of New Anfield

The move to the purpose built stadium in Stanley Park, Liverpool will see the club leave their home since 1892, Anfield, where they have played since the club was founded. There are plans being considered to preserve the Shankly gates, the Hillsborough memorial and maybe even the current pitch.

thats cool
Anfield is awesome, it’ll be shame if they lose the atomosphere that it generates!
Stadium looks really cool, and i can see why they would want to preserve the current pitch!
looks cool
anfields pitch is gunna be made into a park so people can play on it!!! i like the new stadium it looks quality
Looks awfull. I actually thought the previous design was much better. I think the rejig is because they didn’t want the stadium to be attractive while the football being played there is anything but. I suppose it would have been false advertising.
its s**t .. it lookslike a baseball ground
shite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CITY TILL I DIE
hi i surrport manchester utd and to be fair i think that new stadium is pretty rubbish i would stick with anfield otherwise you will end up like ARSEnal
it wont b better than st james park
Looks good, and at least it is close to Liverpool’s true home. Being a cynic is the white bit meant to be a C, for what will probably end up being called the Carlsberg Area. Hopefully Liverpool and other fans will refer to it as Stanley Park, aka Arsenal playing at Ashburton Grove not whatever the sponsors are. (Yes I do know but I refuse to use any sponsors name for stadiums).
Looks weird. It will be a sad day when both Everton and Liverpool leave their current grounds. A lot of history and tradition there. I’m a Sunderland fan but always enjoyed going to Goodison and Anfield.
ht looks like a supermarket to me not a footie stadium i mean god the COMS is miles bettter than that spaceship in the middle of liverpool CITY TILL I DIE
Anyone who really thinks this is **** is horribly wrong. It’s class, i don’t support Liverpool but I would feel really proud to show up every week to watch Liverpool play there. You lucky scouse ********.
But there will be CCTV everywhere so theft will be down to a minimum i guess
Its a good stadium but Liverpools new American owners are only just showing the colour of their money (only because Benitez threatened the Americans saying “give me money or i quit”) but i think this new stadium is too soon - try and fill Anfield first - apart from the Champions league what major trophy have Liverpool won?
The team has got to gel before expectations are met
hi i am a Blackburn fan and i think the stadium is a new beginning for Liverpool i really hope they do well this year as it gets boring after Christmas cos its always a 2 horse race and also the stadium will end up a fortress if they can get there act together as they have got some good players now
TO JAMES GRUBB
Every season Benitez buys loads of new good players but they dont preform together, look at the fans player of the year - GERRARD, but did Liverpool buy HIM - no. New players are only judged on what you win - Premiership is the BIG prize as you have to preform over the whole of the season
I SUPPORT MAN CITY AND WE HAD THE BEST STADIUM AROUND ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO AND HAHA WE STILL DO FORGET ANY OF THAT RUBBISH OLD TRAFFORD… EVER WONDERED WHY THEY CALL IT OOOOLD TRAFFORD…OMG I ALMOST FORGOT COMS WELL BETTER THAN THIS STADIUM
Excuse me rob! But your ground is s**t! For a new ground it generates LESS Atmosphere than what you had at Maine Road and LESS than the Emirates. Old Trafford is one of the greatest football stadiums on the PLANET. Oh and for the stadium, its like a mix between Anfield, COMS and Emirates put together. Oh and Villa Park is the best. Longest FA Cup Semi’s Host!!!!
Bloody awesome. I’ve got until 2010 to visit Anfield … and then gotta visit Stanley Park/New Anfield!!!!!
so wat at least our stadium is nice…villa park is a shall i say descent stadium and haha lol bout ure is built over a road so dere
looks amazin.. all u k**bs sayin it luks shi*.. i can say ur staduims arent as gd as dis 1..
i think the stadium looks nice but they should stick to anfield cos its one of the best stadium in the world and they shud just add more seats like old trafford
well to be fair its not the worst stadium but do liverpool have to lose anfield couldn’t they give to the reserves or use as a home for englands womans team. although thingking about it that stadium reminds me of j.f.k airport in new york.
just because theyr getting a new stadium, it wont mean they will win trophies!
This thread shows 2 things:
1) Liverpool’s nice looking new stadium.
2) Manc’s know absolutely nothing about football (and some other fans)!
Tim, yes you can talk to us about attractive football, shall we all watch last years FA cup final again for kicks?
Manchester United, no we are not sticking with Anfield because the fact of the matter is, its too small and you have been slating us for years about it, sounds like someone is afraid of competition on stadium size to me.
Rob, have you ever been to a supermarket?
BUKO, TRY AND FILL ANFIELD FIRST?!?!?!?!?!? You clearly have never been to anfield or even watched a game there on TV the home section is ALWAYS full to bursting there are never any left over tickets that is without a doubt the worst statement I have ever read. You then went on to say the Premiership is the big prize, yeah only until we win it then you will move on to the amount of FA cups you have because it is the only thing you will have left!
Rob again, it doesn’t matter how “good” COMS is if you can’t hear the home fans from 10 metres away there is no point in having a stadium at all!
Jack.b, well at least I suppose you are not like your jealous counterparts and claiming that you don’t like the stadium. But you have clearly never been anywhere near Anfield because there is literally no space to add more seats. Anfield is surrounded by houses and main roads so there is no room for extension and at the Annie Road end you literally enter the stadium off the pavement.
And finally andy mccormick, no it won’t because as you can see we win plenty of those in our current stadium.
Jonny Fish (Liverpool fan)
jonny goldfish do have anger management or did you wake up on the wrong side of your mum this morning.
wicked im not a liverpool fan
but i saw the other plans for it
now there re done it looks fantastic!
I think Jonny has a point. I live on Merseyside and I’m sick of Manc fans in particular slagging off Anfield for being a “small stadium”, and now the we finally produce plans for a ground to match theirs they are so short of ideas (and braincells) that complain of how it looks. Could it be that you suddenly realise how normal your stadium looks and that there are so many like it all over the world?? Theatre of Dreams, my arse!!!
Sorry Harley if you can’t handle real opinion rather than mancs just coming from here, there and everywhere expressing the same opinion. This is why I credited jack.b because he actually said what he really thinks and not just being a sheep like the rest of the Manchester public. Thank you Bill exactly how I would have expressed it. If Old Trafford is theatre of dreams, the new Anfield will be theatre of reality.
Jonny Fish (Liverpool Fan)
ive changed ma mind..its nice
Everton’s biggest ever mistake:
letting them call themselves Liverpool. We should stopped them and forced them to call themselves “Anfield,” because some people might think that there is only one team in the city. If anything, Everton should’ve been called Liverpool, as we were the first team formed in the city.
look it true it does look a bit uneven but i’m Manchester United but it’s still a good stadium and go to it anyday only if Manchester United playing though
The new anfield looks great and i would love to listen to the atmosthere there.
wow what a load of **** im man u till i die, go you red devils
what a load of f.u.c.k.i.n.g. s.h.i.t.
Bob marley and mr bean your comments really optimise everything that is wrong with mancs just saying something is bad because you support a different team. Old Trafford is a nice stadium I may hate the people who enter there but when it is empty it is a nice stadium.
gold fish stop pretending to be polite when its obvious your not from the way you talk about mancs in your overly long letter further up the page. why must you hate every one who supports or plays for other teams. you should thank them for all the good matches they’ve given you over the years.
p.s the bob marley name is realey pethetic and if you try to think of another one make sure its not fruit and barley or harley davidson because ive heard it all before.
BUKO - “try and fill Anfield first - apart from the Champions league what major trophy have Liverpool won?”
Filling Anfield is quite easy actually, the waiting list for a season ticket is over five years now, most games are complete sell-outs so you’re being a little ignorant there. And on the trophy front, I suppose we haven’t won any major trophies at all since 2000 if you forget about the UEFA Cup, 2 Carling Cup, 2 FA Cups, and Community Shield and the Champions League. I’d like to see another team with that record in the past six years, who have also reached the CL final twice in three years. Capiche?
well said craig
To Harley:
I don’t hate everyone who supports or plays for other teams at all. You have me completely wrong. I only hate mindless supporters who just say things without good reason and just because they hate a club everything about it must be bad. Just in this particular forum it has been supporters who support Manchester, I am sorry if I was a aggressive at first I am just really annoyed by people who who no nothing about football saying things they really don’t know about. Like the person above for example.
Like Craig I too have been on the season ticket waiting list for 5 years and I hate it when people say “yeah try and fill your stadium” and “the premiership is the big one” yes we havn’t won it in 17 years but we still hold the most league titles overall so I don’t see how that is an argument. These are the same people who were saying before we won the Champions League that the new Champions League format is harder to win in than the old European Cup format, which they suddenly stopped saying it until we won it in 2005. I don’t know who you support Harley but I’m sure if you had received the same treatment off your rival fans you wouldn’t be happy.

Juan Sebe Veron, Kleberson, Diego Forlan, Fabien Barthez, Darren Fletcher, Eric Djemba-Djemba, Massimo Taibi, anyone?!
Aye but what bout Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, and for the new season Nani looks quality and Hargreaves is a proven england player. They have had their shockers United but some who they have signed won them the prem last season so it doesn’t matter.
Nani has done nothing yet, and Hargreaves is yet to play for ManYoo. What does my head in about the whole Liverpool/Man Utd coverage is the way in which Torres who has scored steadily (admittedly not prolifically) over 10 goals per season, cost us £20 million and apparently we overpaid, yet Utd. pay £17.3 for a player no-one in England had heard of until this season, and it’s hailed as a star-buy. I can’t help but think if Torres had signed for Utd., people would be praising Ferguson for luring such a world-class player. I admit Rooney & Ronaldo are class players, and I enjoy watching them play (just not against Liverpool). Riise, Finnan & Hyypia were all quality bargain buys by the way. I actually respect Utd. more than Chelsea because at least there is genuine passion and a footballing tradition behind the team, whereas Chelsea need to give away 50,000 flags before a match to try and generate an atmosphere.
Aye Chelsea support is **** that is a given, just look at community shield and FA cup semi-final could even fill their section’s but as soon as the FA cup final comes round it’s suddenly full. But it’s just the way it is sometimes how many United fans I’ve spoken to started supporting them in “99″ by sheer coincidence. Yes they have a good fan-base but how many of them are actually from Manchester?
good point whats the point of supporting a team thats stadium is so far away that youll never get to see thier match.
Glad they are lookin at preserving the pitch… it will be nice to get on the old grounds for free again, havent done that since I was there in the late 80s they tried to charge me last time… lol
U LOT ARGUING!!! now calm down and go to ure rooms
Lets solve the problem……… Liverpool’s stadiums is great; man united’s stadium is also great; The new maine road is great; villa park is great; Craven cottage is rubbish, though
so going to to that wen it opens
the new design is nice well done and it has to be better than the worststadium in the premership which is newcastle
