Middlesbrough kits are water-resistant
After both the home and away kits were officially unveiled, and discussed on this website:

it has become known that both kits are made of water-resistant material. This is due to the exclusive innovative technology used by Errea in the designing and manufacturing process of the playing kits. Shirts are resistant not just to water, but also to other liquids, by incorporating silver and titanium in the fabric using nanotechnology. Middlesbrough are the first club to test this new technology with their kits, and this has excited and wowed Boro fans. This view was echoed by Fabrizio Taddei, Errea marketing manager, who said:

“Middlesbrough are the first and only football club in the world to have utilized this unique material in a football shirt. The new shirts are not only fully waterproof but are also resistant to other liquids. Whereas other clothing is often made waterproof through a coating process, tiny particles of titanium and silver have been woven into the yarn of Boro’s new shirts to create a unique fabric. We are confident that the new technologies utilised in the manufacturing of the shirts will be appreciated by the players and the supporters.”
Shirts go on general sale as from the 26th July, when this breakthrough in football shirt design hits the stores, and may possibly make Errea a dominant force in the market in the near future.
