Manchester United Third kit 08/09 revealed
Manchester United have now revealed their new Third kit for 08/09 season which is made by Nike.
This confirms the previous leaked images. The shirt is all Blue. The club badge is on the left of the shirt and there is writing around it saying, “May 29th 1968″ and “40th Anniversary” which commemorates the 1968 european cup win over Benfica. The makers, Nike, have their logo on the right of the shirt in white and the club’s sponsor, AIG, have its logo in the middle of the shirt in white. The shirt will be worn with blue shorts and blue socks.
The kit is now avaialble to pre-order and goes on sale on the 16th of September.

A bit disappointing ! ManU are a great team, but this is a blue shirt (9,99.-) with a badge (30.-) and a sponsor on it. Nevertheless, it looks much better than the away shirt !

This is as though Nike are on a budget or something, like Johnny said they just slapped a badge, nike tick, and sponsor on a blue shirt.
Surely a few lines to make it look a bit different wouldn’t cost too much for such a big company?

The patch now really is just slamed on their, just the devil in embroidered! Some other details wouldn´t be ba either and what´s with that NIKE TEAM patch on the lower left side of the shirt, can´t they write THE RED DEVILS on it or something elseß! the material is better though than the homeshirt!

Anyway… they’re only usin that kit to celebrate the european triumph of 1968 & that they won last season’s champions league. if your a true supporter, you wouldn lash out at the design of the kit. As a Chelsea fan, I like it. OK so the blue is a few shades too light, and the badge a bit too stuck on, but it is OK.
The problem is Nike (ditto Adidas, Puma, Umbro etc), is that globally they have hundreds of shirt deals, and change up to 5 shirts per club, thus they simply run out of ideas, and just create one or two templates per year and modify them slightly for each club. Thus people like us find it boring.
When clubs used to have just home and away and change each on alternative seasons the templates weren’t so over used.
It’s refreshing and simple - I like simple. However, it would have been nice if Nike had experimented with a little red or blue for the neckline, cuffs etc. The embroidery is annoying, as they have 3 European Cups now - I don’t think it’s worth putting on a replica shirt. I don’t think it will matter as most likely this shirt will be used just for 1 season. As Man U helped start this annoying trend of clubs changing their away shirts every season. Here today gone tomorrow. They should have used white shorts.

Love the shirt shows we will always carry our history with us and hopefully helps the younger fans understand the history that made utd what they are today!

on the united megastore website, the cl patch on the 3rd kit shown is different, says: champions 08-09. are they gonna be playing with that on their shirts or are they gonna be using the same cl star ball patch?
