Macclesfield Home shirt 08/09

macclesfield town have revealed their new home shirt for 08/09 season made by adidas. They have also revealed their new clubs logo that features on the shirt.

The shirt is macclesfield’s traditional colour of Blue. There is a white band running from the bottom right of the collar, to the left armpit. There is also another white band running around the bottom left of the shirt. The clubs new badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers, Adidas, have their logo on the top right of the shirt and their three stripes running down each sleeve in white. The clubs sponsor, Cheshire building society, have their name across the middle of the shirt. The shirt will be worn with white shorts and blue socks

    Why are adidas making Macclesfield’s kit? Seems strange that a big company would bother with a team in the lower leagues? Liverpool, Bayern Munich etc would make them money but unless you’re a Macc fan you won’t be buying this. A loss leader?

    I don’t understand Adidas, isn’t template the one Liverpool used last season and I KNOW its still the one The American Houston Dynamo still have. They really need to get off there *** and make different kits for different teams.

    The reason it is an old template is that Macclesfield dont have the type of sponsorship deal with Adidas that the big clubs do.
    Instead they have a deal with them that they can buy the shirts in bulk, in the same way that other lower league clubs do with the top brands, Fulham & Derby did this last season with Nike & Adidas. They are just the same templates that ypu can get for teamwear on sites like ProDirect Soccer etc etc.

    I think you’ll find that this is more of a case of Macclesfield choosing Adidas, rather than Adidas choosing Macclesfield. Nike have been making the shirts for Southend, Hereford, Chester, Grimsby, Hartlepool etc basically using their templates, and I would expect sales to be up because it’s Nike / Adidas rather than Vandenal, Paulos Berara or whoever.

    Shame it’s a template, but it’s not too bad.

    we had adidas 10 year ago behind as always macc
    o n b4 u say out yes u beat us 6-0 blablabla ,that did us a favor n got turner sacked and replayced by gannon the god ,have fun in leauge 2 boys leeds n the foxes her we come ,lol
