Liverpool wear red shorts against the Gunners
In the Sunday afternoon match against Arsenal, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Liverpool couldn’t wear their original away shorts due to a deemed colour clash. As the game was played at the Emirates Stadium, Liverpool wore their away kit for this occasion, being checkered grey with red details. On the other hand, Arsenal played in the Nike red shirt complemented by white shorts. The white shorts of Arsenal was said to clash with the original grey shorts of the Reds, and the latter had to change it temporarily for the match. Hence, they used the red home shorts, as can be seen from the picture below:

The original Liverpool away shorts is the following:

It is also good noting that during this festive season, Kitbag are offering huge discounts on the away shirt of Liverpool. Shirt prices were reduced by up to 30%. So if you are a Liverpool fan, be sure to grab one of these shirts (printed or not) before they go out of stock. Follow the link below:

Who thought silver was a good-looking color for a football shirt.
I noticed this when I turned on the match. It really looked bad, in my opinion. For the most part I think colored shorts (excluding white and black) look bad unless they are the same color as the top (Brazil NT being one exception). I’m a Sounders FC fan and unfortunately this is what our new kits look like. Green top w/blue bottoms, and visa versa for our away.
I actually think that putting Liverpool in the red shorts made the whole situation worse, because the combination of grey and red against arsenal’s combination of red and white made the OVERALL clash even worse!! I think if Liverpool had been in all grey, it would’ve been a much better contrast against Arsenal’s red and white.
I couldn’t understand it, don’t Liverpool have a second away strip they can use for situations like? It looked to people like they had forgotten their grey shorts back in Anfield.. LFC fan
Why didn’t they just wear the green and black kit?
because the green kit is for european use only, a bit silly in my opinion, all silver (grey) would have looked much better. and i`m glad celtic have changed the yellow away kit to yellow shorts aswell instaed of green lol
Couldn’t they have worn that green and black monstrosity or si that only for Europe?
As it’s a bug bear of mine I also say that UEFA should ban these “only for Europe” kits. Some of the French clubs, Marseille last season and this, and Lyon and Bordeaux this year are particularly guilty of this rotten marketing and rotten design disasters.
i dont no y the scum didnt wer the green kit, it’s not only jst 4 europe, it’s 4 prem aswell, cause united n chelsea av europen 3rd shirts and chelsea worn thers agains west brom n pompy n united av worn thers at arsenal and will wer it at stoke on friday,

I agree with most of the posts above. All gray would have clashed less than this combination.
It looked like it does when my team must change because of a clash. We can only afford a second set of discount jerseys, not the entire kit!
I don’t think wearing red shorts was necessary but I’m glad they did as it broke up the boring rigidness of today’s kit culture – after all we’re talking about it. Yes, they said the 3rd kit is for Europe but you would think the whole point of a third kit was for occasions like this, at least it used to be be – now it’s just a way to take money out of the punters pockets. Liverpool throughout the 80’s would on occasion wear their red shorts with their away shirts, It’s nothing new.
They could have wore grey jersey, black shorts and the grey or red socks…
bob the nufc 3rd shirt is amazing
Grey and red is the worst combination ever. It makes your eyes hurt.
