New Liverpool Grey Away Shirt

Liverpool Away shirt 08/09 leak confirmed

Posted on June 17th, 2008 in Liverpool by Ben1991

after revealing the leaked pictures earlier, Liverpool have sent cards to season ticket holders with the new design and pre-order details on it.

This confirms the leaked images that the new Liverpool Away kit will be primarily Grey. The colours is more a checkered pattern of grey to darker grey. The club badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers, Adidas, have their logo on the top centre of the chest and their three stripes running down either arm, both in red. The club sponsor’s, Carlsberg, have their name written accross the middle of the shirt. The shirt will be worn with grey shorts and grey socks.

The shirt will be officially revealed on the 19th of June when it will be available to pre-order and will be available to buy on the 17th of July.

Is it me or does it remind you of that infamous Man. Utd away kit. Well Liverpool probably wont have the best away form next season!

  6. Wegerle10 said,

Love it, looks proper old school like the candy 90’s away kit.

    Well done Adidas!

Hi! I’m from Poland and I’m 15. I want to be a football kits meaker when I will grow up. So, I have a request. Can you tell me, what do you think about my first project?

Horrid. Even has the ugly 80’s square print. Charlton 1988/9 Woolwich/Admiral.

Stolar - Looks better from the back, Not keen on the front. In my opinion a good shirt is simple and sticks to tradition. Away kits can be less traditional but should still be simple.

  15. Stavros said,

Oh my god, it’s the eighties! Good goalie shirt though

  16. umz said,

sotlar -m8 those kits are gr8 - i also wanna be a pro footy kit designer but i dont know much abt computers to make the designs on them. I just do hand drawn ones and have about 200 odd designs -

THE KIT IS GREAT - BETTER THAN HAVING A YELLOW AND WHITE KIT EVERY OTHER SEASON

  17. panhandle said,

    Don’t like the gray.

  18. illy said,

i think the shirt is great nice change from having yellow one season and white the next . well done adidas ! and i have also heard that we will be wearinng the third kit on the opening day and tht is dark green !!!

i agree would be better if carlsberg was in red but still great shirt
the goalie top is great aswell real old school feel to it
lay off the badge!! this is the best crest in the prem by far!!

  23. bob said,

Why, why, why??? Who really thought this was a good looking shirt???

  24. Stolar said,

D King, Ok I understand. I agree the skirt should be more simple, but I just want to do something new and oryginal. I sure know that can’t be a home kit, only alternativ.

I have a second kits too, and this one is more simple. What do you think about this?

umz - Think you! I do this project just in “paint” ;)

  25. lfcredsrule said,

nice kits stolar the first one (the red and orange one) would make an amazing roma kit

  26. Phil G said,

Adidas defo gone for the old skool look with this kit. If they are hoping it will bring luck then they have no chance! Liverpool will finish were they always do…4th or 5th. UNLESS they get Villa then they might be a force and battle for top 2 spots.

Stolar…very nice kits and I agree with lfcredsrule orange and maroon kit would make quality roma kit…get in touch with Roma and pitch your design! Also red and white woul be a good charlton kit or middlesbrough kit!

  27. suthes said,

its f*cking awesome just like the 1991 strip..old school, love the check flashes

  28. D King said,

    Stolar

Would look ace on Roma, and sky/black as a Coventry City Away.

Good luck with the career. However if you ever design a Chelsea shirt, all blue please, round collar, and no white lines down the sleeve. D

  29. bex said,

i like the goalkeeper one not too keen on that 1

  30. Garry said,

Looks better modeled than the leaked pics looked. I actually think i like it, it’s something completely different and takes me back to the kit we wore in the late 80’s when we were at our best.

  31. Aled said,

YES they are trying to make the kits look like the ones from our glory era, HOPEFULLY IT DOES THE JOB

It was just a matter of time before adidas went back to the archives and released a gray kit. Unlike Sir Ferguson’s team, the great Liverpool sides of the 80’s actually won in their gray shirts. Decent, simple design - the checkered pattern seems purposely designed to mimic the famous diamond pattern on the 80’s. I’m surprised that Carlsberg didn’t request a border for greater visibility (Crown Paints switched from white to red midway through the season for that very reason) Nice shirt BUT WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE TWO YEAR LIFE CYCLE FOR SHIRTS???$$$ OF COURSE.

I heard people describing the shirt as pig ugly, tbh thats offensive to pigs.
