Kaka to wear Number 8 at Real Madrid
Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite was officially presented today by the club’s new chairman Florentino Perez as his first new Galacticos acquisition. The unveiling of Ronaldo will take place in the first weke of July. Kaka joined the Spanish giants from AC Milan, after a protracted transfer saga last January which tipped the player with a big-money move to Premier League side Manchester City. The club has already sold 2000 new kits with the player name. All the retailers and club shop awaited was to know which number the player would wear.
It was initially thought that he would wear the number 5 left vacated by all-time great Zinedine Zidane. However, Kaka, who is a devout catholic and a very humble person, refused to wear this number. He will instead wear the Number 8 shirt for Los Merengues, which are building a super squad that should be the one to watch in the 2009/10 season. Kaka was presented today holding his new shirt, changing from his previous AC Milan’s number 22. One of the ways that the club is looking to cover the £56 million expense is through the widespread sale of Kaka 8 shirts.

What are you on about JP? Kaka is like the most devout Catholic ever. He is a Brazilian that wears a t-shirt that says “I belong to God” which he shows when he has scored. What more proof do you need plus what does it matter and yes Ronaldo is definately going to be 9 as CR9 is his trademark, his national shirt is now no 9 and nike are planning to bring out CR9 boots too, so i have heard.. probs to replace the R9’s they made for Ronaldinho.
It was the fat Ronaldo (the Brazilian) that Nike did R9’s for, Ronaldinho is R10. It was posted on this very site a while back that CR has changed his shop in Lisbon to CR9, so I too think he will wear 9 for Real
