Puma 2010 Italy Kit

Italy World Cup Home Shirt

Posted on December 29th, 2009 in Italy, World Cup by zebra10

After some leaked pictures had surfaced, it is now practically official that this will be Italy’s new World Cup shirt for South Africa 2010. The current World Champions’ new shirt is mainly blue, the national’s team traditional colour, featuring a tricolor collar and also a graphic design faded on the front of the shirt. The shirt is manufactured by Puma and their logo is featured is placed on the top right part of the shirt with the Azzuri national team crest placed on the opposite left.

Italy qualified for South Africa easily having ended the group as leaders with six points advantage on Republic of Ireland. The latter were extremely unfortunate as they were pitted against the best of 2006 having been drawn with Italy in the Group Stage qualification and then against France in the play-offs. France lost to Italy on penalties in the 2006 World Cup after a 1-1 draw in regular time.

The Azzurri have won the World Cup four times and are just one title short of reaching Brazil’s record five titles. Can this shirt be the one which sees the trophy again during the next Summer?

Everything looks great on the jersey apart from the print on the front, but at least it has some significance to the country’s history and isn’t just random.
