Ghana’s New Puma Kit Deal

In a deal which was announced prior to the start of the Africa Cup of Nations, worth an estimated £12.7 million the Ghana Football Association have agreed for Puma to supply all the national team kits and construct a new training pitch in Accra. Ghana will earn sales royalties, an annual retainer and performance bonuses from Puma and the contract will run until 2012.

The Ghanaians current deal was due to run out in January 2009 but has been extended early, in part due to the nations performance at the 2006 World Cup, but also as the Black Stars’ are hosting the 2008 African Nations Cup and are expected to do well there too.

Kwasi Nyantakyi President of the Ghana Football Association said:

“This commitment is convincing proof of the recent progress we have made and this will enhance football in Ghana”
