Falkirk Euro Shirt 2009/10

Scottish Premier League club Falkirk, nicknamed the Bairns, have managed to avoid relegation by just one point in the last matchday of the 2008/09 season. They obtained just one point more than relegated club Inverness Caledonian Thistle, with 38 points. Falkirk won just 9 out of the 38 league games, and have a negative goal difference of -15. However, their form in the Scottish Cup was totally different, as they reached the final, only to lose against Rangers. As Rangers were already qualified for the UEFA Champions League due to their league placing, Falkirk gained qualification to the second qualifying round of the Europa League 2009/10.

Hence, they had to ask shirt manufacturers Puma to design a new European shirt for them to use on European nights. They hope to progress through the playoffs and continue as much as possible in the new European competition. The shirt was unveiled on the 11th June at the club shop at the Falkirk Stadium. The shirt is mainly light-blue, with darker blue details on the shoulders and on the sleeves.

    Sort of looks like Newcastle’s Euro kits two years ago. Not bad in any case and hope they give the team some fortune during the tournament.

    It relly does look like the Newcastle shirt, only without the addidas badges, Newcastle crest, Northern Rock in the middle, without premier league badges and writing on the back and without 3 stripes running down the arm.

    I’m very surprised that no-one has noticed the resemblance between this kit and Newcastle’s European kit a few years back.
