Exeter City 2008/09 Home Shirt Vote

Posted on March 11th, 2008 in Exeter City by admin

Following the success of their 2007/08 away shirt vote last season, the Supporters’ Trust of Exeter City are inviting members to chose the design of the 2008/09 Exeter Home Shirt for next season. Exeter could be wearing the shirt in the football league again next season if they can maintain a push for promotion which currently sees them just outside the play-off spots in the Blue Square Premier.

unrelated to exeter, but some news for you if you want it.
T-mobile is to exit as sponsor of West Bromwich Albion from the end of this season. The club are currently in dicussions with companies at both a national and international level with a view to taking over T-Mobile

I get the idea that giving the fans the choice between these kits is in response to the critisism by Lincoln City fan’s of their team’s 2007/08 Umbro kits. A lot of that stemmed from the fact that the back of the shirt was solid red when traditionally it had been striped like the front of the shirt. The kit’s didn’t sell very well as a result (and possibly because most people in Lincoln seem to support Liverpool for some unknown reason).

Giving the fans a choice like this (even though a few of the designs are very similar) is the way forward, and I like to see the manufacturers do this with the bigger clubs too.

Good that most fans want plain simple shirts without the panels.
Striped backs of shirts are quite rare I guess due to numbers, names and sponsership being clearer.
