FC Energie Cottbus was founded in 1966 in Cottbus, East Germany. The club had a mixed history playing in many different leagues until the re-unification of Germany in 1990. Since then the club has climbed from the third tear of German football to the Bundesliga finishing as high as 13th on the table in 2001/02 and 2006/07. 

Home 1

The first choice for the 2009/10 home shirt is white in colour with thin red horizontal stripes. The shirt features a round neck with a traditional collar and a red design on the shoulders and chest edges. The club logo is found on the left hand side of the chest with the shirt-maker Saller on the right side of the chest. The back of the shirt in includes red features and the shorts are red with white trimmings.

Home 2

The second choice for the 2009/10 home shirt is also white in colour it features the same shoulder and sleeve design as Home 1 but has a single thick horitzontal stripe across the top of the chest instead of many. The club logo is found on the left hand side of the chest with the shirt-maker Saller found below the neck. The back of the shirt features and shorts feature the same design as Home 1.

Home 3

The third choice for the 2009/10 home shirt is red in colour and features a single vertical stripe design on the left hand side of the shirt. It features a round neck and a traditional collar with the club logo inside the stripe on the left hand side of the chest and the shirt-maker logo on the right hand side of the chest. The back of the shirt features white details and the shorts are either white or red.
