Dunfermline Home & Away 2008/09
Scottish club Dunfermline Athletic have officially unveiled the new kits that they will be using for the 2008/09 season. The Pars, as they are called, have ranked 5th in this season’s Scottish First Division (2nd level of Scottish football) out of 10 teams. The kits of Dunfermline are manufactured by Puma, as from this season, after Adidas stopped manufacturing their kits in 2008. The new manufacturers were unveiled in the same event as the new kits. The shirt sponsors are insurance company The Purvis Group for the fourth consecutive year.

The home kit, as can be seen from the picture is white with black stripes. On the other hand, the away shirt is yellow, with details in white around the shoulders and black details on the collar. The deal with Puma has been struck after The Pars have been working closely with Genesis Group International Ltd, which are the exclusive licensees for Puma-sponsored teamwear in the UK & Ireland. These were the comments of the Genesis Director and the Head of Sports of Puma:
“We’re excited to announce the signing of the four season deal with Dunfermline Athletic FC. The partnership ahead with The Pars will provide bespoke Puma Technical Kit and Trainingwear to the club, we are confident supporters will have a fantastic reaction to the brand.” – John Howarth, Genesis Sales Director
“This is an exciting opportunity for us and will provide great exposure for Puma in Scotland. We are delighted to be the Technical Kit sponsor and are looking forward to working with Dunfermline Athletic FC and its fans. With great kit and excellent service, we¹re sure our partnership will be a successful one.” – Richard Callaway, Puma Head of Sports
Regarding the prolonging of the sponsorship deal of The Purvis Group for the 2008/09 season, Dunfermline Athletic CEO Bill Hodgins commented:
“This sponsorship deal is great news for DAFC; The Purvis Group have worked very much in partnership with DAFC over the last few years, offering practical help on many occasions. Undoubtedly, the brand exposure that comes with any major shirt sponsorship is an attraction for companies, but Purvis have gone beyond the “deal” in many ways. We are delighted that it’s their name on our new Puma shirts for 2008/09.” – Bill Hodgins, Chief Executive of Dunfermline
The founder and managing director of The Purvis Group, Bob Purvis had this to say about the deal:
“Although last year was not as successful on the park as we all hoped it would be. Our relationship with DAFC continues to benefit our companies and therefore we are delighted to continue to be the clubs main sponsor for next season. A season in which we are confident that every effort will be made to return to the Premier League.” – Bob Purvis, The Purvis Group Managing Director & Founder
Shirts of Dunfermline are expected to be in stores as from the 21st June, but the club has already started calling for pre-orders.
