Posted on July 4th, 2009 in Derby County by Ben1991

Championship side Derby County have revealed their new home kit which the team will be wearing next season. The kit is made by Adidas.

the home shirt is mainly Derby’s traditional hom colours of Black and white. The bodt is mostly White. The collar is black and there is a back stripe running off from the collar, down the right side of the shirt. The club badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers have their logo in the top centre of the chest and have their three stripes running down each arm in black. The club sponsors have their name written across the middle of the shirt in black. The shirt will be worn with black shorts and white socks.

The shirt is now available to pre-order from the club website and is released on the 18th of July.

Great kit im glad that they didnt do the sleeves in the second colour (black) like middlesbrough and plymouth.

In reply to the person whom said “did they not wear that in the premier league”

the simple answer is no its nothin like it!

however the home goalkeeper is exactly the same as the home kit that we had in the prem but it is green!

I was hoping that it wouldnt be the same template as plymouth’s but it actually looks sooooo much nicer than theres simply just because of the colours, it looks much simpler than plymouths somehow and looks very clean and crisp, cnt w8 to get my hands on it

NFFC why do you bother, you are putting a bad image on all Forest fans at the moment.

About the kit, loving the new addidas template but they will probably end up over using it and then every one will hate it and find it boring. But for now it’s good and fresh.

125 years old and ADIDAS help celibrate by proving a preowned template with the sponsors name again oversized upon the front. Running the name up the black line may have improved this – but not for me. I’ll await the away or even third team shirt – to celebrate the 125 years.

  19. Shane said,

Sponsors name running up the side of the shirt as Ajax did with ABN AMRO would have nailed this shirt as one of ADIDAS’ best in this template design. Shame the marketing men and the designers cannot think outside the box.

Although this template’s being splashed around willy nilly – it’s don’t look half bad in black and white.

  29. southampton-till-i-die said,

thats proper nice actually!! Well done the makers of this kit, if i was a derby fan i certainly wouldnt complain!

  30. StokieSteve said,

    alright i suppose

  31. Shane said,

As Derby County celebrate 125 years of football league history it might seem fitting that one of the shirt designs reflected its original colours of amber, chocolate and blue. Expectation of this occurring with the traditional white home shirt could readily be excused, or for some even welcomed, yet for it to be ignored for the away kit is unforgivable. Worse still is that there is nothing that tells us we are celebrating such a milestone as 125 years of league history, a trophy that cannot be taken by the likes of Chelsea or Man. United with their endless monetary resources.
So, while the new away kit is likely one of Derby County’s best ever it is not what I expected. Any chance of a third kit? It might yet take someone brave at Pride Park to point out to ADIDAS that they have gotten something a little wrong for this to occur. Should a third kit be revealed that fails to make any real measure of the celebrations then I would advise derby County to sack the advertising men and bring in a new team.
