Denmark unveil their 2010 World Cup Shirt
Most nations which have qualified for the upcoming, highly-awaited World Cup are now unveiling the shirts that they will use for next summer’s competition to be held in South Africa. Denmark have followed suit and presented the new home shirt to be used for the event. The Scandinavian country ascertained qualifictaion on the 10th October when it beat rivals Sweden by 1-0 at the Parken Stadium in the Danish capital Copenhagen. Surprisingly, the country’s national team finish top of Group 1 ahead of runners-up Portugal, which went into the play-offs, and an unqualified Swedish team in the third place.

Two players that will be key to Denmark in the world event will be group top-scorer Soren Larsen (5 goals) and Arsenal player Nicklas Bendtner (3 goals). Denmark appear in their 4th World Cup in their football history and their best-ever performance was reaching the quarter-final stage in 1998. Certainly, they will be looking to go beyond that stage this season.

The Danish shirt is manufactured by German renowned sportswear brand Adidas, and features more details than the previous shirt. The home shirts of the country’s team are traditionally red and this has been retained for the 2010 World Cup shirt. A horizontal stripe of white details has been added on the middle part of the body. The trademark stripes of Adidas on the shoulders and sleeves are white, and so is the long collar. The logo of Adidas is centralised while the player number on the front will appear on the right side of the chest. The complementary shorts and socks will be white.

Well it’s certainly different, and I like it.
Must be a few Middlesbrough fans taking an interest in that one
Interesting pattern..Usually Adidas incorporates a three stripe brand mark into things like that, doesn’t seem to have done it here.
Different but brilliant. Well done Adidas.
Really nice actually. I was expecting to have to critisise when I saw the word Denmark but it’s a really good jersey. Well done Adidas!
I see an indiscreet reference to the Hummel chevrons from the famous Denmark kits…
I love the adidas kits for the World Cup, and will be buying Argentina and France!!!
Is Adidas sponsoring the World Cup like Puma are sponsoring The African Nations, as every bloody top so far has been made by Adidas.
i like it, very nice kit, and yes, it’s very Boro in it’s design, but the guy in the poster looks like that guy from that terrible GOAL movie, and he played for Newcastle, kind of spoils any fantasy of this being Boro’s next home kit.
