Cruzeiro Third Shirt 09/10
Brazilian club Cruzeiro Esporte Club have launched their new third shirt for 2009/10. The club were founded in 1921 as Palestra Italia and since then they have managed to lift the Copa Libertadores and the Supercopa Sudamericana two times as well as being crowned champions of the Brazliian Serie A in 2003.
The club are nicknamed the Fox and play their home games at Mineirao, which has a capacity of 75,000. They finished the 2008 season in 3rd place.
The new Cruzeiro third shirt is manufactured by the club’s shirt manufacturers – Reebok and features 2 shades of blue, light blue dominating the top half of the shirt and darker blue at the bottom half.

The third shirt was officially presented yesterday, before the friendly game “Sorín Eterno”, when the ex-capitain and left-windback of Argentina and Cruzeiro said bye to football carrer. Mineirao was extremally wonderfull, with 62,000 “foxes” who donated 90t of not-perecible food. Thank you, Juanpí, for all that you did for the football, for my Cruzeiro. The “China Azul” will be eternally with you.

A curiosity, Cruzeiro do not use its whole badge on the home and away kits, only the five stars representing the Southern Cross can be found on those kits. on the third the whole badge is used and there’s a crown above it, representing the conquests achieved in 2003, which were the state championship, the national cup and the national league, which means Cruzeiro won everything the team were envolved in that year. The badge on the right side of the chest is the Palestra Italia badge, the name and badge that Cruzeiro was founded with.
