Cristiano Ronaldo unveiled as Real Madrid’s new No. 9

Posted on July 6th, 2009 in Real Madrid by reddevilrooney

Helping Manchester United win every possible competition and the guidance he received from the Red Devils’ coaching team and Sir Alex, made Cristiano Ronaldo the most expensive player in the world. After all, he is the World’s Best Player, and the £80 million price tag was deemed to be worth it by new Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. In the unveiling ceremony at the Santiago Bernabeu, 75000 turned up to see the world’s best player unveiled in the white of Madrid. The fans chanted Florentino as the much-loved chairman went on the podium alongside Alfredo Di Stefano. The newly appointed chairman described Ronaldo as one of the world’s best ever players. Portuguese legend Eusebio was also present for the ceremony.

    he look like a t.w.a.t

Is this real? It looks like something from PES 09.

  4. Haydz said,

well said Mel we have had the best out of him and utd will be able 2 play a proper game of footy without him hogging the ball or diving!! (i am a utd fan)

That’s exactly what I thought when I saw it.
Real Madrid are gonna field a whole team of strikers next season and wonder why they are guff. Ronaldo will cry his way through the season and get in a fight with all the five or six managers they appoint too.

  6. Chris said,

lol the first pic DOES look like PES.

  7. Jambo said,

He’s NOT the best player in the world, Messi is as he proved in the Champions League Final. Ronaldo is just a spoilt arrogant preening overpaid @rsole .

I was hoping people don’t come on here and slaughter him because of leaving Manchester United, but that dosen’t seem to be the case.

The man wanted to play for Real Madrid since he was a little boy and had already won everything that there was to win at United.

Also, people saying that he is ‘past his best’, what age is he, 22 or 23? How can he be past his best at such a young age. I think United fans are just angry.

He opened his CR9 shops in Janurary so every one knew he was going to take that number.

I hope he does well in Madrid as he is a fantastic player. I just hope he stops whinging all the time.

Alao before I go, I saw the Madrid top on him today and liked the jersey, but Ronaldo just didn’t look right in it. Oh yeah, and has his tan got darker?

I’m a united fan and frankly speaking, I’m glad to see him leave. He is a fantastic play, no one can deny. But I cannot tolerate one who assumes to be above the manager and the whole team! Come on, foot is a team game. Next season, we will continue our domination w/o Ron.

im 16 years old, and love manchester united, the greatest team in english football at the moment… i think the world, because one game against barcelona dosent change anything, but officially they are the best..

i have such a deep interest in football to know that ronaldo is an amazing player, but compared to previous seasons, the 08/09 season was a let down, after his op he never really got back into his stride, if he does not do better in the next 2 years at real madrid, i think thats it for him, he would’ve peaked early.

i hope ronaldo does well, but im a united fan and half of me hopes he does poorly because i grew up watching ronaldo for the last 6 years, its like watching family leave you.

w/e happens, man united will dominate football for years to come.. not because of big money signings… but because of the fact our team is so well rounded… plus we have so many reserves.. and so many aspiring youths… i just hope man united change their mind about costa and purchase him… cus him and liajc are going to be the next greatest things if man united train them…

btw to any liverpool supporters… in the last 16 premiership titles we won.. how much have you won …. 0

  12. Kevin said,

I’m just glad United don’t have him anymore!

Yeah it’s a team game, but without him past two years you would have won nothing.

  13. Watford Boy said,

    booo Ronaldo is a scum

  14. Nick said,

Ronaldo is a diving, cheating C.U.N.T. Let him rot away in Madrid and regress in skill like everyone else who signs there (KJ Huntelaar, Arjen Robben, David Beckham, Wesley Sneijder, Rafa Van Der Vaart, Javier Saviola, Antonio Cassano, etc…)

  15. john cameron said,

he looks dodgy in a number 9 shirt he suits number 7 or 17 any way i hope real madrid fcuk him up like they do to all players they ruined michael owen and beckham now wat they gonna do to ronaldo i hope he gets a broken leg or something i hate him (im a kilmarnock fan )

  16. Bruno said,

there is only one Ronaldo,is Ronaldo Nazario the Brazilian phenomenon, this is ronaldo without world cup!

  17. Jambo said,

Liam J C; I’m not slating him because he left Man Utd. On the contrary I hate Man U. I’m slating him because I hate the petulant little ****. He says its his dream to play for Real, that maybe the case but he shouldn’t have agreed to such a long deal at Man Utd then says he wants to go so soon after. I hope he rots in Madrid and we never hear of him again.

  18. Gareth said,

I think he suited the White and Gold of Real Madrid perfectly. It is great to see him finally getting his chance to achieve his dreams at Real Madrid and not winning another title for Manchester United. I believe Manchester United has just lost its greatest asset, may it be for an enormous amount of money but I still believe he will be irreplacable. £80,000,000 is not going to buy 1 or 2 players half the ability of the Portugese wizard so the scummy mancs will have to live with coming second or third place in the premier league this season. Liverpool will be the driving force as they will keep Alonso and Mascherano by sticking to their guns and along with Gerrard and Torres it will be like last season all over again without dropping the silly points and the mancs getting lucky with a 19 year old bean pole scoring for them.

All in all Liverpool will be champions of England and United will finish the season with at most the Charity Shield!

    Viva Ronaldo my friends… YNWA!

  19. Gareth said,

Oh and to MYYLES!!! You may not be old enough to remember! Oh.. you aren’t! Liverpool ruled the 70’s and 80’s without anybody else competing… and its going to begin again from lifting the trophy in 2010 and retaining it for many years to come!! Lets see the mancs become another Leeds United!!! YNWA!!

  20. LFC said,

Always thought he looked a right poofter.
