Cardiff City have to remove 777ball sponsor logo after 1 week

Last week we brought you the news that Cardiff City have signed an agreement with Asian betting company 777ball. They wore the shirts with the company’s logo for the first time against Newcastle on Sunday 13th September, but had to come out on the field in the following away game against Reading. The removal of the logo from the shirts was done after an advice by the Gambling Commission.

777ball do not have the necessary license to advertise in Europe. The firm is based and licensed in the Philippines. Although the sponsor logo had to be temporarily removed, there are no problems with the £250000 one-season agreement between Cardiff and 777ball. A spokesperson for the club said that they are working actively to get the logo back on the shirts as soon as possible. A meeting is scheduled for next week between the Gambling Commission and the Asian betting company 777ball to sort out the matter and issue the license. The matter will not be resolved in time for Saturday’s match against Queen’s Park Rangers.
