Bristol Rovers 125th Anniversary Third shirt 08/09

bristol Rovers have revealed designs for a 125th Anniversary shirt that the team will wear as a third kit next season. The Pirates celebrate 125 years of football this coming season, having been formed in 1883.

The shirt is mainly Black. There is a yellow stripe running diagonaly down the shirt. There is also silver piping down the sides of the shirt.  The shirt will also  have an old fashioned  lace up collar. The club badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers, Errea, have their logo on the right of the shirt. The club’s sponsors, Cowlin, have their name written across the middle of the shirt and blackthorn, have their name written on the top of the back. The shirt will also have the words “125th Anniversary” written on the left sleeve. The shirt will be worn with black shorts.

The kit will be launched in early October, and online pre-orders will be taken from around the middle of September.

    What’s with all the strange anniversary dates? 100th anniversary is a good one to celebrate. 150th is a good one to celebrate. But 125th? Why? Or why not celebrate every five years?

    Wonderful. Can’t beat a bit of Victorian styling. 125th is OK, but 110th (Portsmouth) is a bit odd imo.

    There’s nothing wrong with celebrating a club’s 125th anniversary. It’s simply not worth launching a new kit over (hint - embroidery under the crest is enough.) Note to clubs: If you want to squeeze more money out of your fans, there are less tacky things you can do:
    • Club themed coffins
    • Club branded toilet paper/feminine products
    • Rent out skyboxes for wakes
    • Simply change your strips after just one season for no apparent reason be$ides the obvious.

    omg augustus, for the 3rd time 110 years for portsmouth is because they did not have the funds to celebrate the 100th anniversary in that year. how many times??
