Blackburn Third Kit 2008/09

Blackburn Rovers made use of their third kit (which was last season’s away kit) for the first time in a friendly match against Macclesfield Town. Blackburn’s new manager Paul ince played his last match in his playing career at this club (Macclesfield Town), and started off his managerial career at the same club on the 23rd October 2006. It was the first test of the ex-Man Utd player’s managerial abilities, and it looks like the future is promising for Blackburn Rovers. The Rovers got off to a winning start in their 2008/09 campaign when they defeated Macclesfield by 2-1, goals coming from David Dunn and Paul Gallagher. Follow this link for the match report.

The third kit, which will be used in the event of colour clashes, will be half red and half black. Just like all other Umbro kits, it makes use of well-studied technology to keep the player as comfortable as possible. The shirt is sponsored by Crown Paints, which have their logo in the centre on a black background. The right sleeve will be black, while the left sleeve will be red. The collar will be partly black (with red details) and partly white. There are also details on the shoulders and details in white on the sides. The new kit will be complemented by black shorts which will have red details and white piping on the sides.

    I really digged this kit last season, was quality. Good to see a return, but its not as good as last seasons for me.
