Blackburn Rovers away shirt leaked

Posted on May 13th, 2009 in Blackburn Rovers by luckyliam10

Blackburn Rovers have secured their top flight status for another season after an impressive 2-0 win at home to Portsmouth and are on the verge of unleashing their away shirt for next season. The release date is set for the 14th of May but here at football-shirts.co.uk/fans we have received an early leak of the shirt.

A fan made kit mockup

The shirt is found below and has followed the design revealed by the official website earlier this month. The colours have been filled in as you can see the shirt features a round neck with red and blue and red hoops on the sleeves with blue side trimmings.

looks lyk manu away shirt collar……almost copied

white is an excellent choice for an away kit basically so they can have a 3rd kit which will probably be blue,so then they can sell a 4th kit the GREEDY PIGS

Good template, hope Hull will get a nice umbro shirt at the coming season

  7. Dooshra said,

umbro have fugged up with this template. The Band on the shoulder bit is horrid and that other red bit makes it look Sunday league

Still don’t get it – why would a club with blue and white first strip have a white and blue second strip? Any away match that Rovers could wear this they would likely be able to wear their home kit. Conversely, if the first strip clashes with the home side’s, how will this not?

Mikey – one would expect they could wear it away to Chelsea and other teams playing in predominantly blue, against which their halved home shirts would clash. But yes, they would need a third shirt away to teams who wear white (such as Bolton, whose colours curiously resemble this shirt… Sam Allardyce connection, perhaps!)

Well it’s not that bad.. Would have been nice if the top was red too. But who cares, Rovers are the best !

i agree with every1 about the choice of colour,im not a rovers fan but it does my head in clubs do this blatently so people have to purchase 3 kits every season now.

Nice shirt. This years away kit will become the third kit.

yes, colour clashing away kits is becoming more common these days (see brighton this year), but the king of them was chivas guadalajara in mexico, who had red and white stripes for the home kit, and white and red stripes for the away kit. I think that they should go back to the old playground thing of shirts an skins, where one teams plays with their tops off. Of course they would have to write the sponsor’s name on their chest in a big thick sharpie pen.

Ugly kit. Umbro usually have white away kits so that a 3rd kit is needed. Chelsea had 3 kits last season (all scrapped after 1 year), the away was yellow and 3rd black, but at no time did they play a team wearing blue and yellow or blue and black. The ugliness of shirts this season and the vast number of rapid changes will mean a massive drop in shirt sales. I’m buy a shirt from a team like Dagenham & Redbridge who keep their shirts for 2 seasons.

While not as nice as last seasons Blue away kit, It is nonetheless very striking and my only moan about it is why white, because we have white on our home shrits. But still a very nice kit..

    FAKE!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t like that much at all. Nice to see them break from halved shirts every now and again but that is a relegation shirt …

I predict a red third shirt.

I’m not sure quite what to make of it yet. The white and red look good but I don’t think the blue was needed. It resembles a Glasgow Rangers away kit, perhaps they’re trying to keep that connection (Amoruso, Ferguson, Souness, Khizanishvili…) now that Tugay is leaving at the end of the season. I’ve always thought we should have just been called Range Rovers! As for it being an excuse to have a 3rd kit, Rovers haven’t had one for years so I don’t think it is intentional, just not really thought out properly seeing as half of the 1st kit is also white. As for money making, I only buy one shirt a season anyway seeing as how the home shirt looks virtually the same each year. I still think this seasons 2nd kit is the best we’ve had though.

i think its a smart kit

NICE KIT! BUT WHY DOES THE CLUB TEASER SHIRT LOOK LIKE IT HAS BEEN MADE ON PAINT

  23. Jack said,

There’s better photos of the kit to be found on the net if you look. But it is similar to what’s seen above and it does look nice. A bit too 80s for my liking, but nice all the same.
