Beware: Fake Newcastle 2009/10 shirt with incorrect badges
This story continues to strengthen the need for football fans to buy shirts from a reliable, official source, such as the official club shop, club online store, or reliable retailers such as Kitbag or Subside Sports. Although shirts are prices much lower on seemingly-reliable websites, their quality and authenticity are ripped off. This is happening now in the Far East. As huge sportswear firms have relocated to the Far East, the people have learned the techniques involved in producing the shirts, and organised crime gangs are offering shirts at £11, which is much lower than their selling price in Europe and the United States. Moreover, these shirts are fake and the material out of which they are produced is very low quality.

To prove that these are fake and not the actual club shirts, we can have a look at the Newcastle 2009/10 shirt that is being sold on some of these websites. It has the Adidas emblem, Newcastle crest and sponsor logo, and uses the new fold-over collar template of Adidas. Until now, looking at it over the Internet (as one cannot see and touch before ordering through a website) it looks authentic. But having a look at the sleeves, we can see that the Far-Eastern fraudsters have made one huge mistake: the Newcastle shirt carries the badges of the Premier League. Apparently, the news that Newcastle have been relegated to the Coca-Cola Championship has not yet reached the Far Eastern shores.
There are some people which are blinded by the lower prices and still choose to buy such fake shirts, on the assumption that they are not very different from the actual official shirt. The truth is, they are! Not only that, but the fans that do so are also directly damaging their own club, as famous clubs worldwide are suffering from such criminal activities in Asia. Supporting your club, be it Newcastle or any other club, in a fake shirt is an enormous contradiction. In reality, fans that do so are supporting organised criminal organisations, whose profits from the sales of these fake shirts fund severely serious crimes such as child pornography, drug trafficking, people trafficking, prostitution and organ trafficking. Be careful from where to buy your club’s shirt as your ‘bargain’ may cost the life of an innocent third-party.
A spokesperson for Newcastle United said:
“The club and its kit sponsor are aware of this problem and as such are working with trading standards in conjunction with other kit manufacturers, other governing bodies and the like to try and put a stop to such practices.”
An Adidas spokesman commented:
“Sales of counterfeit shirts rip off fans, as they are often very poor quality and they also take away income from the clubs. The trade is often run by organised crime.”
And a word of caution from the Newcastle City Council Trading Standards:
“Buying online can be a great way to get a bargain and be a really flexible way to shop, but we always encourage people to be very careful when shopping over the internet, especially when buying from abroad.”
“There is no way to guarantee the quality of what you are buying and sometimes, especially with electrical goods and toys, the goods can even be dangerous.”
“An easy way to be safe is to stick to retailers you know about or ones that have been personally recommended to you. Buying from abroad also makes it very difficult to get your money back if you need to.”

premier league badges, ha! legendary mistake lol
Do they sell Real Madrid shirts with “Treble Winners 2008/09″ on them, too? HAHAHA!
I think, that fake shirts production is controlled by Adidas, Nike etc. because fake shirts have the same material like original shirts, but they are not accurately sewed and have many problems with tags, patches etc.
Some one probaly stuck on the prem badges for a laugh!
If sportswear companies and clubs decided to sell shirts for less than £40 then people wouldnt resort to buying fakes…I resent paying full price and regularly wit until they drop significantly. These kits are nowhere near worth the money that we fans shell out!!
Yes kids – don’t buy seemingly reasonably priced shirts from unknown dealers. Please buy your shirts from known sources where you are guaranteed to be ripped off i.e. your official club shop, where the lovely shirt you paid over £40 will be used for just one season.
maybe that is a photo of the real kit. because newcastle wore the new strip over the last few games of the premier league season so the kits would still have had the epl patches on them would they not?
Yes, but didn’t Newcastle wear this shirt in their last Premier League match? Which would possibly explain the sleeves.
I agree with Thomas, they wore the kit against Fulham.
So just tell the asian seller you want one without badges on the sleeves. Problem solved and you just saved $50!
It’s a photo of fake shirt. I guarantee that
Incorrect (old style) “cimacool” mark on the bottom hem.
And no, Marteluer, these shirts do not use the same materials as their authentic cousins. In fact, it’s usually quite simple to distinguish between the two when viewed in actuality.
hahahahaha playing in the championship newcastle not premier league lol
The material of Liverpool shirt from adidas shop and the material of the fake shirt was the same. I have been amazed by this fact
On one of those ‘fake’ shirt websites the person who owns the site says to enquire to him to get a contract from adidas or nike to make shirts, and the shirts he sells are priced at about a quarter of the ‘official’ ones. Nike and Adidas obviously control the ‘fake’ shirt market.
i’m sure they wore this against fulham last game of season.
if the clubs and manufactures reduced there prices then fans wouldnt buy the fakes…..as newcastle fans know this as a few years ago the former chairman freddy shepherd and his mate douglas hall even said in a secret video of them actually sayin how the fans are ripped off buyin the shirts.
cant be the shirt they wore coz the tag is still on
well no bloody wonder the shirts are fake its the far east for christs sake!!!!
and u can see thats a fake the collar is too thin and too wide so are the badges but we dont have them badges any more
1 more point our luck just gets worse and worse dosent it?
they wore that shirt for their last home game so they cold of put the badges on before they went down
