Beckham unveiled at Milan
The world famous star has landed in the Italian fashion capital today at around quarter past 9 (GMT) in his private jet. The Italian media was present to reprt about this fantastic acquisition for Milan. Although Beckham will only stay at the club for 3 months until March 2009, the amount of shirt sales is expected to rocket sky-high over the coming days. Beckham was separated from his wife to undertake his medical at the Betulle clinic, while Posh Spice was in heaven doing some last-minute Christmas shopping in the fashion wonderland.

Beckham’s two favourite numbers are both taken at Milan: Number 7 (in which Beckham played for Manchester United and plays for England) and Number 23 (in which he played for Real Madrid and LA Galaxy). Alexandre Pato plays in 7 while vice-captain Massimo Ambrosini wears the 23 shirt. Thus, David will be wearing number 75. The loan deal from LA Galaxy will take effect as from the 7th January. A press conference is scheduled for 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT). Keep checking and we will bring you the first pictures of Beckham in this highly-expected shirt.
Beckham’s comments were:
“This adventure gives me a great deal of motivation. Milan is truly an incredible club, better than the rest. After playing in the best English and Spanish teams, I am at the best Italian team. My objective is to train hard and give my contribution to the squad.”
Milan general manager Adriano Galliani said: “I hope he leaves a mark at Milan, and maybe he can return again next year. I don’t believe that he can stay longer, as getting him in the first place has been difficult.”
Correction: David Beckham will wear the number 32 for Milan, even though the general perception was that he will wear the number 75.

And if anyone is wondering about the atmosphere around the Milan stadium, San Siro, the fans are very happy with the arrival of the English star. Special souvenir items have been issued by the club shop, although the loan term is relatively short:
