Barcelona Kits

Barcelona Home & Away kits 08/09

Posted on June 25th, 2008 in Barcelona by Ben1991

After much speculation and “leaked” photographs, Spanish giants Barcelona have revealed their new Home and Away Kits for next season which is made by Nike.

The Home shirt is Barcelona’s traditional colour of Blue and red. this time, the left half of the shirt and the left sleeve is red, and the right half of the shirt and right sleeve is blue. The club’s badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers, Nike, have their logo on the right of the shirt. The club sponsor, Unicef, have their name and logo across the middle of the shirt in yellow. The shirt will be worn with blue shorts and mostly red socks.

this picture of the away kit confirms that the leaked pictures were all true. the shirt is mostly yellow, with a red and blue stripe running on the left side. The collar is also black. The club’s badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers, Nike, have their logo on the right of the shirt. The club sponsor, Unicef, have their name and logo across the middle of the shirt in black. The shirt will be worn with yellow shorts and yellow socks.

What are you on about, F?: “hate real madrid FOREVER”??
That’s Barcelona up there, not Real Madrid!

Home shirt almost equal to the 2006-07 shirt.

    Away shirt is absolutely common.

It’s official: nike is out of ideas.

Wouldn’t pay 70 € for any of them, that’s for sure.

“The shirt will be worn with yellow shorts and yellow socks.”
This is incorrect info in the article. The away shirt will be worn with black shorts and yellow socks in fact.

As for the kits, I absolutely love them. They look really refreshing.

Barca always have some of the best kits in Europe. Although the home shirt isn’t too dis-similar to the one they had this season. The away kit is much better than the orange one from last season.

Arsenal without red sleeves, Barcelona without claret and blue stripes, both shirts look good, but are distrepectful of tradition. What next Brazil in green and yellow hoops.

  19. Augustus said,

Tradition in football, the thing that holds it together, is now a thing of the past. The clubs should have the power to veto these kits so why they aren’t is anyone’s guess. I’m just off to see the Nike Celtic leak. I wonder if it’ll be blue with red and white trim? ;-(

The home shirt is actually a traditional design; Barca wore red-and-blue halves in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century shortly after their foundation. This is why the centenary kit had the same design in 1999.

amazing similar to the previous one 06 / 07

home shirt going a bit old-skool
away shirt is a nice change from the electric blue number
gk shirt a bit boring, but 2 out of three aint bad, right?

  23. Pete said,

Barca will be the greatest Ecuadorian national team ever in that road shirt. :)

The away kit is nice but look at the top picture. I think you will find that the collar, the Unicef logo & the shorts are all navy blue, not black & yellow

Away kit is cool. Not that keen on the home kit

  32. sarah said,

the shirt would be better if was actually the colours used in like the shot they hav with puyol in it, the darker red and blue look great until u c that in the daylight its just bright not deeper tones, another sad effort by nike

  33. MUFC_EMcL said,

home is ok not the best but away is cool last yrs home was better

  34. Tahl said,

The away kit looks almost identical to Lyon’s third kit for 08-09..

  35. Howie said,

A gutless shirt for a gutless club. It’s common knowledge that Nike diesn’t like stripes. Isn’t there anyone in Barca’s management to say, “This is the way things are here.”? This shirt selection speaks volumes as to where Barca is right now. And that’s light years behind Real Madrid, and even Villareal at this point. Go through with that plan to sell Ronaldinho and Eto’o, then let us know how you enjoy playing Steaua Bucharest in the UEFA Cup.
