Avram Grant to manage Chelsea

Avram Grant ChelseaGood friend of Roman Abramovich and former Israel, Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Maccabi Haifa coach Avram Grant has taken over as coach/manager at Chelsea.

51 year old Grant joined Chelsea in the summer from Portsmouth where he was technical director and at the time was told by Jose Mourinho not to interfere in team affairs. The Israeli, who was the club’s director of football, will now take charge, Mourinho’s number two Steve Clarke as his assistant.

Mourinho leaves Chelsea

After an indifferent start to the season for the Stamford Bridge club, a crisis meeting was held at the club on Wednesday night, after which Jose Mourinho has left the club he led to two Premier League titles by mutual consent.

Mourinho leaves with three years left on his contract, in that time he won 124, drew 40 and lost just 21 matches, including a 60 match Premier League unbeaten run at home.

The Chelsea website confirmed: “Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have agreed to part company today (Thursday) by mutual consent.”

    i reckon jose’s either gonna go for a big gun like inter milan or real madrid or he might make suprising move to a smaller team snd bring em glory. i doubt he’d be any good outside european football though.
