Atheltic Bilbao 110 Year Shirts

Posted on September 28th, 2007 in Athletic Bilbao by 01news

Athletic Club Bilbao were founded in Basque Country in 1989, this season they have a special commemorative shirt to celebrate that. Their first club colours were blue and white stripes but in 1910 they switched to the red and white stripes you see them wearing today.

110 Year Athletic Club Bilbao Kit

This special shirt has the club badge centrally located on the front of the kit, the badge itself features a church and red & white stripes, the church as the club’s San Mamés stadium is positioned near to one. One sleeve of the shirt has 1898 for the year of their foundation and the other sleeve has the LFP logo.

The name & numbering on the shirt has been designed in such a way that it looks from a far as if it has been stitched onto the shirt, where in fact it is just white on the black. Athletic Club is written on the back of the shirt’s large white collar.

A bit bland. The black numbers and name look awful. And why celebrate 110 years??

how can anyone like burberry, or think that wearing tracksuits out side of a sport your tacking part in is acceptable.

I like the shirt; it’s simple and strong. The style of collar and clear numbers and name make it look like a retro classic - perfect for a 110 year anniversary.
