Arsenal discontinue Euro/Third Shirt
Upon a recent visit to the Armoury, the megastore at the Emirates Stadium, I discovered that Arsenal are no longer stocking their Euro/Third Shirt, therefore are likely discontinuing the kit. This can also be seen by visiting the Arsenal online store, which is only selling the remaining stock of kids shorts and infant’s kits.
In my opinion it is likely that the current Arsenal Away Shirt will become the Euro/Third Shirt for the 08/09 Premier League season and a new Away Shirt will be released along side the brand new Home Shirt.

Wow, you’ve really given me something to think about with that deep insight there, Gavin. Why even leave a comment if that’s the best you can conjure (at least you didn’t cram in the fact that you support Newcastle this time though…)?
It’s obvious this shirt was due to be discontinued as we’ve already seen the new home and away shirts for next season and the current away shirt will most likely become the third for next season. Add to that the fact that most Arsenal fans dislike the current third shirt and that they are most likely crashing out of Europe soon and there’s even more reason to stop selling it…
I really liked these jerseys though i can see how many other gooners may not like it. I think the current home and away we have is absolutely perfect(though on the home jersey i would much rather have gold numbers and letters similar to the champions league style)
i think this years 3rd jersey will be very sought after if arsenal can go deep into the champs league…..but they gotta beat the defending champs on wednesday first……
still is it not a bit early to stop selling the shirt? after all next seasons shirts are months away from being revealed.

I was at the United Megastore a few weeks back and they said the black away shirt was being discontinued and it was only a one year deal. I was also at the Emirates and they weren’t available back in December as well.
United’s black shirt will probably be the third shirt next year, just as last year’s white away kit is this year’s third. You haven’t been able to buy that for a year either, even though it is still used in matches this season.
WOW. A club releases an unecessary 3rd shirt to squeeze some cash out of their loyal supporters and we’re shocked that it’s dicontinued after 1 season - anybody that was gullible to buy that shirt in the 1st place got what they paid for. The naming rights to the stadium apparently not enough to pay the bills.
