It was officially announced that Ajax have reached an agreement with Adidas to extend their present manufacturing deal beyond its current expiry date, that of the 1st July 2009. The new 10-year deal starts on this date, meaning that German sportswear giant Adidas will be manufacturing Ajax’s kits until the 1st July 2019. This contract earns Ajax €70 million over 10 years, an average of 7 million euros yearly.

Included in the contract is a bonus scheme, where the income that Ajax earns will be topped up by a bonus should the club achieve better results than predicted, especially on the European stage.

The Ajax management commented: “We are of course very pleased with the faith that Adidas has given in Ajax’s future. Both the term and the sponsorship amount fit precisely within our vision and plans.”

The Managing Director of Adidas responsible for this deal said: “We are proud that we can continue our current and good relationship with Ajax. We have much faith in the future of the club and are very enthusiastic about the national and international development plans the club has.”
