Adidas Chelsea 2009/10 Home Shirt revealed
After much speculation and awaiting by fans of the Blues, the club has finally revealed the new home shirt for 2009/10 officially. We had brought you a leak of the possible shirt back on the 8th February, and it seems that our sources were correct. The same shirt we leaked on this website has been revealed by Chelsea as the new home shirt. We stand just 4 matchdays away from the end of the Premiership campaign, which will probably be retained by Manchester United. Chelsea are also in the semifinals of the Champions League under the transformative guidance of Guus Hiddink. They have a chance of earning a repeat of the Moscow Final, by facing Manchester United, who lead 1-0 against Arsenal in the other semi-final, in the Rome 2009 Final.
The new home shirt has a reflex blue colour and has white Adidas stripes on the shoulders and sleeve-ends. It was launched under the slogan ‘Every team needs a 12th man’, thanking fans for their continuous support of the club. One particularly interesting feature, which seems to be the latest template of Adidas, is the mandarin-style collar. It has rubber piping running down from the neckline, with Chelsea FC written in white on it. Another feature is the blue design on the chest. The shirt is complemented by blue shorts and white socks. The fabric used is ClimaCool which strives to keep players dry, cool and comfortable. The new home shirt will be used on the 17th May against Blackburn, which is the penultimate match of the Premier League. The club is now receiving pre-orders, and the shirt will be dispatched on the 14th May, just before its first use in Blackburn match.

What an ugly shirt, it could have at least been Royal Blue, at least it looks better than the Plymouth Adidas shirt.
Why rubber on the front? Won’t this kill Didier Drogba when he dives, his chest will grip the ground, send his body over his head, breaking his neck.

Adidas used this template for Red Bull New York of the MLS and it was met with similar derision. I think its ridiculous, but doesn’t look as bad when its on a player.
