Rovers to ditch Lonsdale for Umbro?

Rumours are circulating that Blackburn Rovers may be wearing Umbro shirts next season, there is yet to be any confirmation. It would be some what of a suprise as the club have a long contract in place with Sports World (Lonsdale) including the running of the club shop.

Any deal with the club could also mean individual deals to be made with the team’s star players including the likes of David Bentley who recently signed a new contract at the club (till 2011) and Norwegian international Morten Gamst Pedersen.

The design of the shirts could come from a supporters vote made at a fans forum.

    I hate the fabric used on this and last seasons home shirt. As long as the away shirt is red & black halves, i’ll be happy!

    Confirmed. Seen a price list from Umbro today (26/4/07) - distributed to Sportswear retail outlets in the North West.

    It confirms that a late deal with Umbro has been done.

    i think investing in new umbro kits is a brilliant idea, i dont really like the lonsdale ones we have now but thats my opion nathan shaw

    If its true, then its great news! Its about time we got shut of Lonsdale…Be it Umbro or another of the big boys - just no more of the poor brands…!!

    hi i know for a fact its umbro my bro works at rovers and a sample umbro shirt was seen in a confrence room and was then swiftly taked away , and even my info my mates dad works at the academy and they have been told they will be wearing umbro next season ,thank god thats wot i say cause quite frankly blackburn havnt had an decent sponcer since 1995
