Andrew Cole Old Manchester United teammates Andrew Cole & Steve Bruce have joined up as Cole has arrived on loan at St Andrews until the end of the season.Bruce has signed the 35 year old marksman Cole from south coast side Portsmouth, where his first team opportunities have been limited this season.

Birmingham are hoping that the Premierships second highest ever goalscorer can boost their bid for promotion. Bruce expects Cole to provide some much needed experience to their front line where they currently have the young and reletively inexpereinced players like DJ Campbell , Cameron Jerome and Nicklas Bendtner.

Birmingham City manager Bruce said:

“We are absolutely delighted to bring Andy in for our Championship run in because he is an exceptional player with a phenomenal goalscoring record…We feel that his experience will prove to be very beneficial to the team, particularly as we have so many young players.”

“Despite his age he has always looked after himself, which is why he is still playing at the highest level of the game…We hope that with his extra quality up front he can help us to secure the promotion that we are so desperate for.”
