April Fools Joke: Bristol Rovers Pink Shirt
So you might remember last year when Bristol Rovers thought it would be funny to trick fans into thinking that they were going to have a new pink third shirt. Thing was though fans loved the idea and wanted to get their hands on the kit.
So many orders came in for the pink shirt that club shirt manufacturers Errea ended up actually making the shirts, with £4 from every adult shirt and £3 from every child shirt sold going to a Breast Cancer charity in the Bristol area.
Ian Cole, IT manager at Bristol Rovers said:
“It started as an April fools joke… We decided to put something on the website as a joke saying it would be our third strip and expecting fans not to like it. But the fans did like it and signed petitions and pestered the club to bring it out for real.”
I wonder if any other teams will go for an April fool’s joke kit release this season?

I think it is a good idea that money from the shirts go to charity. More clubs should do that.
