This ball will be the most popular in the upcoming EPL campaign as it will be used by all teams in each of the 38 rounds played. The new ball has a much more eye-catching design than the 2008/09 ball. It is more complex using royal blue, navy blue, white and orange colours, complementing well to bring out an excellent result. It is called te Nike Total 90 Ascente ball.

It has passed through strict test procedures to optimize flight and accuracy. The ball favours strikers rather than goalkeepers, ensuring that we have a goal-packed Premier League edition full of entertainment. Goalkeepers will have to adapt to this new ball, and we await the start of the league to have better knowledge of its effects. It is made of Polyester Support Fabric which enhances structure and stability. Other features are:

  • Micro-textured surface: accuracy and ball control
  • 3-layer premium contruction: range and velocity
  • Performance Graphic: vision-enhanced ball tracking from anywhere on the pitch

Micro-textured, vision-enhanced, premium construction, blah blah blah. Nike Total 90 Ascente? Wow! That sounds amazing!

More marketing b******s. It’s a ball. The pros will kick a fancy one and kids will be forced to buy a cheap replica which won’t play anything like the expensive one.

I think all the jadded edges on the left of the ball makes it look very “kids like”.

As a teenager I buy these balls to play with in the lawn and they bust the next day, In Ireland I bought an O’Neills GAA ball 2 years ago and I still have it. Nice design though I must say
