2008 Real Salt Lake Shirts

Real Salt Lake was founded in 2004 and currently plays in the American Major League Soccer. The shirts are sponsored by juice manufacturers XanGo and manufactured by German sportswear giants Adidas.

Real Salt Lake home and away

The home shirt of the Red & Blue Army has a red base colour. The shirt has details on the underarm in dark blue. This extends to the chest and shoulders. The sponsor’s logo appears in white in the centre of the shirt. Just like most of the shirts manufactured by Adidas, a common practice is to have the 3 stripes on the shoulders. In the case of the home shirt, these appear in yellow. The logo of Adidas appears in yellow in the centre of the shirt, just above the Xango logo, while the badge of Real Salt Lake appears on the left side when worn.

The design of the away shirt contrasts with the home shirt, in the sense that it is much simpler. The base colour used in white, with the only exception being the underarm part of the shirt, which is red. The centralised Adidas logo, the Xango logo and the typical 3 stripes appear in dark blue on an away shirt which is smart as much as it is simple.

The home shirt is a bit like Spain’s home shirt. I think the 2007 shirt with dark blue sleeves looks better.

I like to see the MLS stepping up their kit designs and logos. Don’t look now, America may have a legit football league.
