The 2008 England Away Shirt?
Check out the image below of England’s 2008 away shirt, which will be worn for the first time against Switzerland on Wednesday February 6th at Wembley Stadium for Fabio Capello’s first game in charge, fans won’t be able to get their hands on it until March 12th as Umbro have delayed release of the kit.

Granted this is just a mockup of what the shirt could look like, but it is using the latest information we have, the FA’s badge will be centrally positioned on the shirt and you can expect the gold star to appear above that, position of the Umbro badge is up for debate but on the right shoulder is kind of common nowadays and the Umbro diamonds over the shoulder are something the brand are trying to bring in to make their kits instantly recognisable. Don’t be suprised if the kit doesn’t look a lot like this, if you’ve seen any other images, post them below.

Appalling. It looks like a training shirt and is not too different from the previous 2 away shirts. With not qualifying for anything I thought they would have pushed the boat out to try and win back the fans and sell shirts. They should have gone back to the old sky blue kit, that would have sold more. This will be the first England kit in nearly 10 years that I won’t be buying.
must have taken the Umbro designers all of 2 mins to come up with that. They probably went on the computer and moved this season’s template shapes around a bit. The one world cup star thing looks embarresing plonked in the middle. I can see what JJB were getting at. I hope when Nike take control they will inject some more marketing control than the current bods at Umbro
any idea if the number will be under the england logo, umbro logo or on the left side ?
are the sleeves a bit “longer” than usual for ss sleeved shirts ?
Uninspired and looks like whomever designed it didn’t really have his heart in it and desperately wanted to be somewhere else. Will suit the current squad down to the ground.

Looks like a rugby skin tight top. I also see umbro couldnt resist using some wihite in their. Arent all umbro away tops white? excluding birmingham.

Yeah, of corse. You will thrash us, you will beat us 5:1 as you always do. This shirt is ****. It is the 2004 version with center badge. Its boring and it sucks.
Its pathetic how umbro and england even try to promotoe such a lousy shirt of a looser squad. Get your free capello shirt with every pre-order, new technique and fabric….laugh laugh. In the end you´ll look like sore lossers in your hyped shirts.

If those shapes in the shoulders would have been diamonds then maybe, but its just random shapes that dont fit into any of the umbro templates realeased lately. Also, the shirt would have some more details as umbro´s major deal is england and they would take more than 5 minutes to design a kit….

This kit is fake. The badge is on the right and the umbro sign is in the middle. The white squiggles on the top are infact diamonds like on the club kits.

try a mock up using sky blue with navy trim, see if it’s any good, I think they should have gone with that for a bit of a change.

Had an idea why don’t England alternate away colours. Red for World Cup years (when they quality), just in case we were ever to get to the final (it could happen Greece won Euro 2004), Black of Grey if we fail to qualify. For the Euro years any colour, maybe gold, silver, yellow, blue. How cool would a gold, black or yellow England shirt be. I’m bored of plain red away shirts. Maybe the new one should be baby pink to embarrass the players as much as they have embarrassed the whole country.
Mr King, have you never noticed that national team’s kits tend to be based on the colours of their flags? Hence white and red kits for England (with occasional blue exceptions) rather than black or gold.
Have you also forgotten the horror of the grey kit we had in 1996?
