Manchester City Third shirt 08/09
Manchester City wore thier new third kit during their Premier League opening game at Aston Villa on Sunday. The new kit is made by Le Coq Sportif and shows that the previous leaked picture was fake.
The shirt is Mostly Orange. the right sleeve is navy blue and there is also navy blue piping around the collar and on the top left of the shirt. There is also yellow piping down the right side of the shirt. The club badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers, Le Coq Sportif, have their logo on the right of the shirt and on the right sleeve. The club sponsor, Thomas Cook, have their name written across the middle of the shirt. The shirt will be worn with orange and navy blue shorts.
The shirt will be available as a limited edition in shops from 27th September, but fans can pre-order the shirt from Tuesday, 26th August.
All these Le Coq Sportif Manchester City shirts have looked a bit cheap.

horrific! maybe the way he is standing but everything looks off centre and the yellow trim is a shocker… how do these kits get off the drawing board? I’d hate to see what the other designs that didnt make it looked like…

I wonder if this is Thaksin’s doing? Saffron and yellow are very Thai colours. The deepish orange (saffron), is the traditional colour of Buddhist monk’s robes, while yellow is the colour of the King’s standard. Do a Google Image search on “saffron robes”.
He’ll be wanting them to shave their heads next..

I’d like to see Hughes and Dunne sporting a yellow and orange afro-perm whilst wearing a shellsuit version of this ‘acidic’ kit. They should be sponsored by Tango or Kia-Ora.
Not a city fan, bloody hate them but would buy that top in a second if I didn’t support another club.

I agree with Brandon, the kit looks horrible on Dunne but looked ok on the pitch on Sunday, I will probably get it anyway. Oh and for the Portsmouth fan your kits are horrible and are made by a rugby kit manufacturer so your opinion does not count.

by saying that pompeys shirts are made by a rugby sponser, yes they are a rugby sponser, but now they do football shirts too. just like adidas, they make more than just football shirts so shut up on that matter!!

florii….We also have Evans, Sturridge, Bianchi and Caicedo (although he does’nt count as he is ****), Brazil only have 1 more game in the olympics on Friday so Jo is not going to be away much longer and Benjani will be back from injury soon. The only player who has actualy said they want to leave is Schmeichel and he can leave cos he aint very good. Our owner being the dodgiest man in the world is ok by me and a lot of other City fans, as long as the man is paying for stuff i dont give a toss how much land he bought for cheaper than it’s worth (the only charge against him by the way, the coruption charge is an extention of this), and before we get into the “he has no money left” please remember the man is a multi billionaire and do you really think that he bacame one by having all his eggs in one basket. He has more than enough money in other accounts around the world.

No dude Bianchi still a city player, I think your thinking of Corradi pal, and as for the sturridge thing I know the kid too have done for a long time and know his parents too, and have spoken too him many times recently….not always about city mind you but still, I have asked him whats going on and he says he doesnt know but he is happy

As for the shirt thing IN MY OPINION our shirts are better than yours, but we will have to agree to disagree.
Oh and the money that we supposedly owe for Elano is a solidarity payment off around £500,000 that is for all the clubs that have contributed to his football training, and the payment is supposed to be paid by the selling club. So City are arguing that they don’t owe it, and this is why we are being investigated by Fifa, and i am sure if we are found to owe it then we will pay it without a problem.

The shirt will be the same price as the rest of our shirts, £30 for short sleeved and £35 for long sleeved, it says so on the official site.

Ecstasy - it’s still not the drug of choice in Manchester is it? I look at this shirt and wonder how this got made, it’s fitting that even the Le Coq Sportif logo is garish. Somebody please tell them that asymetrical templates are so last year. The shirt doesn’t even work on a leisure aesthetic as the 90 Man U away and 97 Newcastle away did. I won’t be caught dead in the pub or on holiday with this on. It’s been 10 years and I’m still sratching my head at that “new ” crest. Nothing makes sense at this club. Unwarranted sackings, third world Kleptocratic owners, wildly fluctuating player movements, and bad shirts - - best of luck to you Mark Hughes, you’ll need it.

We have just bought a defender that plays better in defensive midfield. He played yesterday after only training with the team once and played a man of the match performance in a 3 - 0 city win. The future looks a little brighter today pal.
Oh and i am starting to agree with you after looking at it again and again, this shirt is pretty rank.

i am totally sick of these awful asymmetrical kits, you wouldn’t wear a shirt with different colour sleeves so why make football kits like it. the designers are idiots. all for the sake of being different.

yeah, fratton is a **** ground and a bit of a dump, but we’re building a new stadium soon. its the same situation with what city were in a few years back. maine road was a dump, but now you’ve now got a nice stadium. its the same thing

The kit is lush, it deffinatly makes a change to the standard ‘traditional’ kits that teams have…and anyway, its a 3rd shirt, they’re always ment to be a bit fun.
