Miami Dolphins Football
The Miami Dolphins are a professional American football Team formed in 1966 and playing their home games at the 76,500 capacity Dolphin Stadium, Miami Gardens, Miami, Florida. The Dolphins play in the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL).
Miami's NFL Record
The Dolphins have featured in 5 Super Bowls, losing to the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl VI in 1971, but they then won the following two years at Super Bowl VII when they had an unbeaten season with 17 wins and 1973 in Super Bowl VIII. They later made Super Bowl XVII and XIX, but lost both these meetings. They also hold 5 AFC Conference Championships from: 1971, 1972, 1973, 1982 and 1984, plus twelve Division Championships in AFC East from: 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1979, 1981, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1992, 1994 and 2000.
Jersey Colours of Miami
The Dolphins have stayed true to their colours and still wear white shirts and pants for home games, thought they will sometimes wear aqua green pants. The away strip is aqua green shirts with white pants. The third choice shirt is orange. The helmet is white with an aqua and orange stripe down the middle and the logo is a jumping dolphin wearing a helmet in front of a shining sun. One name who most people will remember pulling on the shirt is Dan Marino the quarter back who played from 1983 to 1999.
