Founded in 1883 the club were known as Singers, changing the name to Coventry City in 1898 and moving into Highfield Road. In 2005 Coventry moved to a purpose built 32,000 capacity stadium called the Ricoh Arena, after having played at their previous ground for over 100 years.
Coventry won their only major trophy the FA Cup in 1987, with a suprise 3-2 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley after extra time. The sky blues were founder members of the Premier League in 1992, but in 2001 were relegated ending 34 years of top flight football for the club.
