Energie Cottbus Football
FC Energie Cottbus is a German football club founded on 31st January 1966, and since then they became FLB Cup winners in 1995/96/97/98/2001, champions of the Northeast Regional League in 1996/97 and DFB-Pokal finalists in 1997.
Club, whose nicknames are Energie and Die Lausitzer, was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1997 and then to the First Division Bundesliga in 2000. After three years in Bundesliga, they were relegated back to the 2nd Bundesliga, but managed to win a promotion to the First Division in 2006/07 season.
Home matches are played at Stadion der Freundschaft in Cottbus, which has capacity of 22,450, in red/white shirts, red shorts and red socks. Away matches are played in black-and-gold shirts, black shorts and black socks. Energie Cottbus has a total of 57 fan clubs, which count 1064 members.
