Columbus Crew Football
The Columbus Crew or just The Crew as they are more commonly known are a professional soccer club playing in the US major league. The club was founded in 1994 and is owned by Lamar Hunt who also owns the American Football side Kansas City Chiefs. The Crew play their homes games in the Columbus Crew Stadium at 1 Black And Gold Boulevard in Columbus, Ohio which is purpose built with a 30,000 capacity
The Crew play their home games in gold shirts with black trim, black shorts and socks. Columbus' away strip is almost the reverse with black shirts and gold trim, gold shorts and black socks. The club shirt has not been worn to many honours, but they did win the US Open Cup in 2002, Goalkeeper Brad Friedel is one of the best known footballers to wear a Columbus Crew shirt, he represented the USA internationally and played for many years in the English Premiership with Blackburn Rovers.
