Tom Cleverley England kit
Born on the 12th of August 1989 in Basingstoke, Thomas ‘Tom' Cleverley has emerged from the Manchester United youth set up into a fully fledged member of the senior squad. Weighing in at only 67kg and at a height of 1.75m Cleverley holds his own in his midfield role.
After representing England at Under20 and Under 21 level his league form was rewarded with a call up to the senior England squad in August 2011. A member of Manchester United since 11 years of age his development was continued with brief loan spells at Leicester City, Watford and finally Wigan Athletic where he scored 4 goals for the club during the 2009/10 season.
His breakthrough to the Manchester United first team came against local rivals Manchester City in the 2011 Community Shield. After being 2-0 down at half-time, Cleverley was a second half substitute and grabbed an assist to help his team to an impressive 3-2 comeback victory. Wearing the number 23 shirt for United, Cleverley has often been touted as an eventual replacement for the recently retired Paul Scholes.
