Chesterfield Football

Chesterfield are an English football Club founded in 1867 and first admitted to The Football League in 1899 into the Second Division. Chesterfield play their home games at the Recreation Ground better known as Saltergate an 8,500 capacity stadium in Derbyshire. The club nickname is the Spireites after the famous crooked spire in the town.

For home games Chesterfield play in kit of blue shirts, white shorts and blue socks, the away strip is a maroon shirt, white shorts and maroon socks. The Chesterfield shirt was pulled one by one of the great goalkeepers Gordon Banks when he was starting out on his distinguished career, also Kevin Davies started his career at Saltergate, his high point being part of Chesterfields giantkilling run to reach the semifinals of the FA Cup in 1997
