Cambridge United Football
Cambridge United Football Club were formed in 1912 as Abbey United changing to Cambridge in 1951 after they become a professional outfit in 1949. Cambridge play their home games in the 9,600 capacity Abbey Stadium, their home since it was built in 1932.
United with the nickname of the Yellows from their shirt which is predominantly yellow with black sides, the away strip is dark blue shirts, pale blue shorts and dark blue socks. The yellow Cambridge shirt has been donned by quite a few players as they started out on their careers such as: Dion Dublin who played between 1988 & 1992 and was sold to Manchester United, Steve Claridge the pundit who played for the club twice before being sold to Birmingham and Trevor Benjamin who played between 1995 amp; 2000 who was their highest value sale for Cambridge United at £1.5mill to Leicester City.
