Birmingham City Football

Birmingham City nicknamed the Blues were formed in 1875 and originally called Small Heath Alliance, which was shortened to Small Heath in 1888, in 1905 the name was changed to the current Birmingham. Birmingham play their home games at St Andrews.

Birmingham Citys home strip is a blue shirt leading to their nickname of the blues, their away strip is yellow. In the 1970s Birmingham had an away strip which comprised of a large yellow stripe down the front of the shirt, one sleeve and a third of the shirt black, with the rest red, it made them look as though they had the Belgian flag wrapped around them.

The most expensive player to wear the blue of Birmingham is Emile Heskey bought from Liverpool in May 2004 for £6,250,000. Birmingham also have the proud record of having the first female Managing Director in the football league.
