The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio. Playing their home games in the 73,000 capacity Cleveland Browns Stadium. They are currently members of the Northern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Browns first played in 1946 the first season after the World war II and they were a charter member of the All-America Football Conference. They went on to join the NFL in 1950 after the AAFC shut down.
The team won all four AAFC titles and had one undefeated season (1948 - 15-0), as well as four NFL Championships in 1950, 1954, 1955 and 1964. They have 11 Conference Championships to date with NFL American: 1950, 1951 and 1952 plus NFL Eastern: 1953, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1964, 1965, 1968 and 1969. In addition to all these they also hold 13 Division Championships and these are: AAFC Western: 1946, 1947, 1948 and 1949, NFL Century: 1967, 1968 and 1969 and finally AFC Central: 1971, 1980, 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1989.
The Browns home strip is a brown jersey with white numerals and a white-orange-white-orange-white stripe sequence on the sleeves and white pants. The away strip is white jersey with brown numerals and a brown-orange-brown-orange-brown stripe sequence on the sleeves. The helmet is the only one in the league that does not feature a logo and is orange.
